Did as others here have already tried and all our odd clutching issues went away I put the 8DN belt in and what a major change, at least down the street on the wheels. Also much smoother engagement and take off. So now I am curious and look closely at both belts.

Stock Viper belt with 100 miles on it - sides (contact area) are concave. not sure how this would happen unless belt is being crushed. So I compare the two belts and the 8DN is noticeably thicker than the Viper belt from top to bottom giving much more surface to the sheaves. Also thicker resists belt being crushed. This is only my opinion and testing today and tomorrow will tell.

I never looked that hard at it , hummmmmm....
What is the inside measurement ? Of both

Was ridding today and the rpm's are still up and down , so I'm going to give it a not her try !

When i get mine back from dealer i will have to try this, been waiting a week and a half. :die

Just tried 8dn belt today I never realized the power I was missing, works awesome. The rpm's stay more constant as well

?

Are you guys taking about the 8DN belts that fit the apex?

Why would they make a belt for this machine alone if the 8dn would not only work but perform better? I'm sorry but I just don't see how this is a good idea.

Why isn't it a good idea ?
It less than a1/2" longer !
What do you think will happen ?

If it works for you run it .

If the spec is that close then why even produce a new belt? They spent time and money engineering this for a reason.

money. come out with a new belt that is 20-30 dollars more, say that it is required, then start raking in the cash...

I agree something is wrong if you need to change belts no reason for it.
