I saw a couple of members asking about places to ride in Maryland in a diff thred...I have not ridden either of the two areas Im about to mention but, I have camped in both places many time:
Greenridge State Forest has some really rough terrain and about 18 miles of trails, its located in western MD just above Hancock on I-68.
Pocomoke River State Forest has about 15 miles of trails, I think its on the tamer side...I checked it out last summer but only from my 4x4 truck on the side of the road, its over on the Eastern Shore about 45 minutes southwest of OC, MD.
both of these areas are really cool places to camp, drank many beers at both campgrounds.
first time posting here hope I got this 411 in the rite place!

thanks Ganz, i really like the format of the site...plus I was doing a little reading and it seems to be some folk here about my age judging by some of the topics covered (30's - 40's).
I'm not real hip to ATV knowledge but I know a little about other things so maybe it all kinda works out in the end!

That's what I always say, you have to know a little about a lot of things. That way you can bull$hit with anyone in the bar.
I think I've seen your name on grizzly owners forum. Are you the same guy? I tried to join over there and have been having problems. Emailed Rob G. 4 times with no response so I gave up on joining.
Anyway, you'll like it here, lots of good people

Ya cold weather, lived here all my live but as I get older I'm getting tired of the cold. This winter hasn't been to bad maybe 15 days below zero not much snow. That's why I sold my sled and got into atv's about 4 years ago. I still like 75 and sunny better though.
Appleton is a little over an hour from here been there many times. Winter pretty mild in your parts?

I do know about all three, the first one at greenridge state forest off of I-68 is still on my list to go to, the other near ocean city is OK i was there about 3 years ago and its nice if you like that kind of open trail riding. the other one is near the track (maryland int raceway) also known as "budds creek" lots of racing of all kind take place there they have an off the wall track with big jumps and you can go on some weekends. Anyway getting back to the other place it is called "Southern Maryland ATV Park" and it was in dirtwheels mag, cant remmember what issue. I go when my son feels like riding, he goes on the beginner/kids track that they have and he loves to race with the other kids his age (he's 9 & riding since he was 5), after he gets warmed up he goes to the big track for some real fun with the big guys. the trail system is OK but after you been there so many times you know it like the back of your hand... but that can also be a good thing when you take someone with you that has never been and your blazzing like a mad man and he cant keep up and he thinks your some kind of pro or something
I got the one year membership for me and my son who has a raptor 80 and an eton that he likes to run at the track. anyway there is not many other places in this area to ride. thanks for your info.
