I'm probly in the minority here, but I really don't think it needs it. That said I am very curious to see how you do this Travis and I know of a couple potential customers that backed off of purchasing a sidewinder only because it didn't have power steering.
Good luck with it Travis.

I am curious also. That said, anyone who thinks there Sidewinder steers hard should really make sure the upper steering post block is not over torqued. My new 17 was, causing hard steering even with the front end off the ground.

It's not only how hard it steers! power steering isolates almost all vibration and feed back through the bars. At 55 with bad shoulders it sometimes makes the difference of riding again the next day or saying F U to snowmobiling! The age group that can afford to ride Sidewinders is generally the older group and they would sell a fair number more if they had Power steering!

I am coming from an 2015 Apex XTX with power steering , and am in my 60's , and think the steering is not , for me ,the biggest issue .
if Travis could come up with something to increase the transfer noticeably , and keep some stock like ajustability , that's what I really want to improve my 137 LTX LE.
That being said if the steering improvement is as simple as a modified bell crank + ?, that really helps , that modification would be in the top 5 of upgrades I plan to do to my SW in the off season.

I anticipated this would peak interest. I always appreciate feedback as it helps me decide where to direct my R&d efforts.

We rode about 60 miles last night with the prototype set up and it worked well. My father, an EPS diehard rode about 10 miles on it. When we stopped for a break his response was " you are definitely on to something"

My means of achieving lighter steering effort are purely mechanical and bolt on which is adds to my excitement level because it will be a very affordable product. You will likely spend more money on skis than this product could end up costing you!

Look forward too seeing this product as well as what price might be

Not the case for mine, I did check that when I first heard about that on a post from Someone on here.

Mine is much better since I changed suspension settings but it still steers hard once you let off the throttle for turns. So the trick is to try and power thru turns a bit if they aren't too tight, but by having the limiter out all the way one can only use that trick on longer sweeps. So yes to easier steering that way you can set this sled up to rock around corners suspension wise!! Have curves with 6" SJ.

bell crank mod similar to the old easy steer ?
?

I have a 2017 ZR limited with qs3s stock skis. Stock duel offset carbide easy to turn.

Ditching the coupler blocks ,adding doo 6.9 skis with 6' shapers in the middle and 4" round bars outside help .Also get the 33/35 tp helix and gates 40c4313 belt and the tp clutch kit .I f the motor won't spin around 9k at any given time ,you won't get much transfer thus having heavy steering .This is what seems to be working so far with stk tune .It now will transfer and wheelie at will .Tuning the clutching will gain alot over the flat shift of the stk. clutching .

I'm interested. I was actually looking at Universal electronic steering kits to adapt to the Sidewinder
