Way to go. This my help Yamaha see the light when they lose a sale over building 2015 with 2016 stickers on it!

Just look at All the viper

Even the 2 VK PROFESSIONAL ll listed have the new motor.

The vintage color has the new motor and my dealer will only receive early built in blue but the red and white is available (ltx le)have 2 choices ltx le red or SB axys 800 HO
Help me!

After riding Polaris since 91 I made the jump this season with the Red/White LTX LE, picking it up tomorrow. I had to make the same decision. Never know till you try it. I thought the Red/White was vintage cool looking.

Well I can tell ya I left Yamaha for a few years from 2011 till 14 when I bought the Viper. I loved the Pro R 800's and had 3 with 2 blowing up with less than 1000 miles. My riding buddy switched with me after riding my 2012 and his 13 blew up with 469 miles on it. I bought a 2015 Pro s 800 SB and hated it so much I sold it after the 2nd ride with 415 miles on it to buy another Viper XTX in a 2015.

The new ones are like driving a drone, they took all the fun out of them as far as I am concerned. I still have my 13 for ditch banging but will probably sell that this season.

I think everyone understands your disappointment at not getting the newest version of the Viper engine, but newer is not always better, and only time will tell. In the meantime, you have an awesome sled with a proven engine, and my guess is that you are going to love it the way that it is.
Yup wait till the problems arise with the new motor and everyone that got the new one cries fowl because they were not told it would have a different motor when they ordered it.

They should re-name the new ones as early build 17's because supposedly no one knew about this till a week ago so everyone who ordered one got what they ordered, and some got something a little different.

Back when these came out, for those of you that are just getting into the viper, everyone bitched because they did not build them till late in the year and they found out they could not load them on an enclosed trailer the way they were crated :o| and deliveries on spring checked sleds were well into the riding season for some. Boy they just cannot win!

I'm excited for the Viper, I have a few of the items suggested by everyone on here ready to go on, Fuse relocate kit/reverse fan harness, BOP skid plate, Lonn's Venom Kit, Black Windshield with flares(looks not function) and the JT Big Wheel kit.

Now there is the positive CAN DO attitude we all like to see!!!! Lets ride!!! ooops ok lets wait for some snow..... then lets ride ;)!

Yamadog what do you mean by driving a drone axys SB?Are they turn like a Pro cross chassis?

I love it, mine is a RED / WHITE STX/DX 2015 have 1200miles on it with tuners and love it on the trails. Tying to update the ride, already excellent but read it can be better so Hygear link. You will love it. Not the least concerned about the motor change as I knew when buying it was not a top end sled...........had that with my APEX for 14k miles..............take the trail ride and handling of the VIPER all day. Not to say I don't occasionally miss the 100+ rips.

I loved the playful soft bounce of the shocks and ski lift into the turns of the 11, 12 & 13's I had. They truly were like a dirt bike. Driving 100 mph down a trail standing up on the boards you could raise 1 foot off and the sled would respond to that and lift that ski. Out playing in deep stuff you could lay the sled over by just thinking about it. I could ride WOT into a 90 deg corner turn hard and lock the track letting the sled go side ways into the berm and power out of the turn. Any plowed driveway was playground to jump and 10' in the air was no problem. The 15 had none of that - very flat into a turn (which some people like) but it just did not make you want to go play. I am also only 5'7" and ride standing 75 % of the time even on fast trails. They moved the gas tank under the seat, it is wider than the seat or the tunnel and has angles that rub on my inner calfs and would make them so sore after 50 miles I had to get off.

See the edges in the fuel tank?

I agree, rode the 14 800Pro R on a ride it like you stole DEMO ride with dealer and it was like driving a sports car down the trail, the AXYS was designed for exactly what you said it did, flat in the corners, seems it was meant for high performed trail riding, nothing off trail.

It's the same or worst than VW scandal.

How can that be when snow check got exactly what they agreed on? Because an upgrade was done and later buyers got better does not negate the spring buyers contract does it? Guys that snow checked a sled with shocks and got less I can see the complaint, but if they sent what you bought where is the damage?
