New Engine in 2016 Vipers and Other Changes

How can that be when snow check got exactly what they agreed on? Because an upgrade was done and later buyers got better does not negate the spring buyers contract does it? Guys that snow checked a sled with shocks and got less I can see the complaint, but if they sent what you bought where is the damage?

Cripes Stingray if it happened to you you would be going crazy! Ask any salesperson what one of the most important things of a sale is? NO SURPRISES! Yamaha broke that rule undoubtedly. If they would have even just sent a message to the dealers when they knew this was going to happen it would have been passed on. This is nothing more than greed since there is a chance the New or Old engine may be perceived as less valuable. Not really sure which way it will go but we will all soon find out. Communication is the key. Personally I like a company that does changes on the fly. That shows aggressiveness and a drive for improvement even if it fails sometimes. But customers need to know as soon as possible.

Its not only Spring Buyers though. Any of the 16's that were or still are on floor are being sold as 16's not sleds with the older motor because no one knew! I bet many techs put the new engine ones together and never knew. You really have to know what to look for.

By all the info posted I've seen so far does it really matter? Almost identical power, so what is it people feel they're missing out on? That's my only question. Like I said before if you were expecting the tuner 3s and didn't get them......well the tuners belong in the dumpster anyways, but that's just my opinion. The only advantage I'm seeing at this point is the jackshaft. If mine ever becomes a problem I'll do the swap for sure. Just my opinion. I understand others have their own opinions

just noticed this, is this the new wave runner motor that they introduced for 2016 model wave runners? thats a 3 cylinder 130hp same cc

For me it would be the starter idler gear and clutch which is made different, new vendor and not able to be installed in old motor.

For me it would be the jackshaft, starter idler gear and the one way starter. This could take care of the jackshalf bearing problem and the starter breaking on kick back.

Stingray, how come the white and red are real 2016 and not the blue one?Tell me if you by a sled same model different color and not the same motor what you will do?
Honest answer pleased

Sorry but you are wrong. I do a lot of contracts and if I get what I contracted for I am happy. If somebody got a better deal by waiting it does not negate you got what you contracted for. Nobody got shorted on what they bought, unlike the shock fiasco of the previous year.

MANY manufactures upgrade in the model year Ford Powerstroke in 2004 comes to mind. Mid 2004 they made HUGE improvements to the powerstroke.

Don't get your point. If a sled is sitting there and I buy it and change my mind later it is on me if it is not what I thought it was. I bought a new 16k motorcycle and hated it and lost 6k when it finally sold but I am not mad at who sold it to me.

NOW, there is a precedence for something similar. In 1978 Oldsmobile customers sued GM in a class action suit for putting the cheap Chevrolet engines in there Oldsmobile's and telling no one. But, the customers argued they received less than they paid for. Not sure that is the case here, everybody got what they agreed on but seems some are angry they might have gotten more if they waited.

WOW! Do I feel the love or what?
Lol. He's right! Cannondale, forgot about the starter changes. But it's yet to be proven a fix. Anyways......nobody was given something other than they thought they were getting.......minus the tuner thing but we all know my thoughts on those.
