I this works as expected EVERY Viper would need this. And at the same price as hood vents how could this be a bad idea?

Just a quick update. We are finally logging in some trail miles on this concept. So far results have been favorable.

Another 350 miles of testing this weekend. Very cold ambient air temps for PA. Started out around 0 and -5 both days of testing and we were seeing intake air temps of 18 degrees while 40-60 mph trail riding. This is utilizing a 100% stock air box with no mods.
With diversion installed coolant temps temps run around 165 with good snow dust.
Had minimal dust on second day and sled would climb to 195 very quickly. Our fan on the diversion was sufficient enough to keep sled from overheating and allow for continued riding. When fan was running intake temps did not increase due to diversions side discharge of hot radiator air.
The only drawback of the diversion so far is that the sled will overheat if you let it sit and idle for more than 4.5 minutes once sled is warmed up. We are using a smaller fan due to space limitations and it does not move as much cfm of air as the factory fan. At an idle the diversion fan just slows down the temp rise rather than bringing it back down below 195. The viper will go into limp mode and shut down to protect engine if it does too hot, so it's not a major issue but something worth noting.
All in all the diversion is delivering the coldest intake temps I have seen posted on TY and the fan is sufficient enough to allow for continued riding in marginal dust conditions so we will likely proceed with production of this product.

i think you need to find a more powerful fan, i was interested until the overheat issue came along.
I would love to get the radiators steam/heat away from my airbox and windshield. nothing more aggrevating then riding some powder, then pulling back on the trail to have my windshield be frosted over.
going to do excells muffler just to reduce the heat/size of snow melter on that side if i can get my hands on one....backordered

Or leave the factory fan in place, and/or activate via separate thermal switch as a failsafe. Could reverse the air flow as well.

Just to clarify the sled will only overheat if you let it sit and idle. We have never experienced any over heating while actually riding the sled.... even in marginal dust conditions. I can recall riding vectors and apex's and getting overheat lights while trying to trail ride on hard pack, and that was annoying. From my perspective that is more of an issue than having to shut sled down when being stopped for a duration.

Made some changes to the prototype diversion and added a second fan. Hoping it will be sufficient to allow for longer idle. Stay tuned.

Has there been any progress with the hot air diverter kit. I have done the free stingray air box mod but now my intake air temps are around 70 deg. with outside temps at 20 deg. would like to divert the hot air away from the air box inlet. Thanks

I would like to see the air intake temps with your concept? I am at 70 as wellJust a quick update. We are finally logging in some trail miles on this concept. So far results have been favorable.
