any body else have a transporter/ venom cut out when run hard. Got a couple codes p1324 that the dealer tells me is fuel related. running the same fuel in my sidewinders one tuned so I’m having a hard time believing it’s poor fuel. Exhaust temp readings on gauge runs almost full which is around or above 1100* Just wondering if they sent these thing out with a lean program. Driving at 35mph at less than 1/2 throttle and exhaust temp is topped out.
Something is wrong

Any ideas anyone

Ran mine for the first time this weekend and am having the same issues. P1324. Dealer insists they put 91 octane in it. It was a full tank when I picked it up. I suspect something else is going on. Makes me feel better knowing it is not just my sled.

are all the intake clamps tight? guys have found loose ones on the winders. i could see the same issue happening on assembly.

Had this going on as well- P1324 is knock system activated. We have 210ish miles on it- I was informed it “cuts out” by the missus at lower speeds sometimes. I’m really hoping this isn’t leaning anything out. Running same 91 fuel as the sidewinder as well.

I added about a gallon of 110 octane fuel to 3/4 of a tank of premium [ same fuel I run in two sidewinders one is tuned 270 ] no more codes or cutting out but exhaust temp was at 1166* driving wide open breaking trail on a drifted field 14” of snow so it was working hard. It got to that high temp almost instantly. I wonder if the arctic cat “blasts” are having same issue

Be sure to make your dealer aware of this issue. We need to get the dealers channeling info to Yamaha. Mine actually seized up 16 miles in. It freed after cool down but rings were stuck. Cranked on it awhile so I could read codes in dash and rings eventually loosened up and it runs again. Its up to 50 miles now. Pulled pipe this morning and definitely evidence of seizure. IT's going in for warranty, but the root cause of P1324 has to be resolved or this will be a repeat cycle of top ends. I suspect mapping has a lean spot or something. Mine has 130 psi of compression now. Can anyone check the compression so we know what a non compromised motor should be?

Seeing a few reports of what sound like ECU mapping issues.

A local guy was posting about it and the concept of telling the dealer about it seemed completely foreign to him.

Definitely work with dealer to resolve these issues and create some info trails.

Been working with my dealer for over a month. Pretty sure by now they know there is an issue. Watch your exhaust temp as I think that is what the cutting out is all about. Quite confident that if you don’t push it to its limits it’ll be ok. If it cuts out or codes just back it down a little bit. 120 miles on my sled Travis and compression is at 150 psi. Also mine is hard cold starting. Figured out that if it doesn’t start right away give it a couple of hard pulls on the rope then it starts on key instantly.

Thanks for the compression number. I was thinking it should be around the 150-160 mark.

Got some feedback from a Cat dealer who dug into it a little for me and it appears that some early builds had too small of an injector installed on the line. This would certainly create lean conditions.

I will certainly update this thread as I get more info.

Maybe you should revise the thread title to reflect the P1324 code so it turns up in searches for people.

Cat is aware of the issues. Secondhand info here. But they said 7600 rpm is max the mapping or fuel is good for. Whether that is because of the actual mapping the clutching or the injector is unclear to me but if riding it dont go over that. I think that mine is getting parked. Hope they figure it out QUICK!

Man these are fun!
Mine is at about 7830 rpm. I put oil in gas at about 100:1. Ran the tar out of it as much as could in ditch and yard. Egt about 4-600.
Piston after. Looks like some coating is flaking off but all good.

Are you saying you egt never went over 600*F

Mine is running almost double that. Don’t have to push very hard to see 1100*

Has it ever cut out on you?

Yes never over 600. I was surprised also. My buddies ctech800 is same way though unless on a long hard pull. I only have about 1/4mi.
