Trust me it’s not the ethanol causing knock.I am running Hurricane 270R. It is always knocking on realy long pull ....
94 petrocanada ( ethanol) i have better results whit 91 from shell whitout ethanol
It’s labeled 94 but it’s BS. I run +40psi on E85, the ethanol is not the problem.

Yes,its a bad trend for our boosted winders, and octane boosters can be a pain in the butt to have to carry, once opened.Steveo is right....all the gas stations I hit in Aroostook County over the weekend were 90, which is bad news for those running big power.

We don't see any E 85 out on our trails,at the local stores we have to visit.Probably better off getting some good octane booster, it will bump you octane more anyway. I was thinking in a pinch if a guy had fuel problems he could dump in 2-3
I’m just a big fan of alcohol! LOL
My car runs E85 and the $hit is incredible as far as a race fuel.

Red bottle of heat is Methanol
Yellow bottle is Isopropanol
Both will work well as an octane booster
Methanol tends to lean out your motor more but Isopropanol needs more volume to achieve the same octane boost.

Exact opposite here in WI...

Remember most 93 and 94 is sitting around along time in winter....Bikes and Perf cars who use this fuel regularly are not out on the road i winter. So that fuel is old/stale much of the time.
Around this area tons of sleds so 91 turns over fast here. And so many times I do better with 91 plus half bottle lucas for speed runs, then I do with 94 petrocan as its OLD.
I think the new updated 240 map from Dave seems to be a tad easier on knock. I noticed today my first run with OLD gas(87) I was able to hold it 2500ft and not even a blip of the lite.

I'm not sure I'd put octane booster in a generic plastic jug.

I've had them sitting on a shelf in the garage for a week just to be certain....plan on putting a fresh one or 2 in sled each time outI'm not sure I'd put octane booster in a generic plastic jug.

I got the colors backwards. In a pinch you could dump a couple bottles in.Exact opposite here in WI...
Just buy some Torco or Klotz octane booster they are the best. Don’t get anything with MTBE, it’s garbage.

I would say watch the knock light and use the fuel with the least amount of knock, then add something like Torco or Klotz until the light goes out.So you think i should be better whit 94prtro Canada whit ethanol ? I will say this, if your getting a knock light it’s not good. On low boost the timing pull is usually enough to eliminate any piston damage. High boost tunes Knock can hit so hard and fast even pulling timing can’t stop the detonation. We’re talk boost levels above 25psi but any knock is hard on $hit.

Correct, I’m talking about something like a 330hp tune. Once the deto starts it’s difficult to stop, even with timing pull and fuel enrichment. Also it will be more intense as boost increases. Pump fuel octane can vary a lot, if your running these big tunes you should always carry a can of quality additive.Hey Clutchmaster when you say low boost you mean like the 240 270 tunes right?
