Not much action here. Winder/Cat 998's are close to perfected for the most part...

And I know that the community here and the aftermarket are the ones responsible, because Yamaha/Cat can't seem to get it right, but now that we pretty much know all the tricks and tips to make these Winder/Cats bulletproof and fast, It seems much quieter here on this great forum.

I know we have had one of the worst winters here locally in SE MN so I have only been out 3 times doing some testing on a new TAPP and feel I even have that close or even spot on. I think many though have had a good/great winter riding compared to my lousy season mileage.

I believe its so quiet because we have the issues of Blowing Belts, freezing Roll Over Valves, Blowing Oil Tank Seals, Worn Top gear Bushings & Spinning Driveshaft Bearings fixed, dealt with and behind us with the known fixes from years of testing & perfecting these fixes. Many of us are running 300HP and over with little to no problems whatsoever. I know I'm extremely happy with mine now and have been really ecstatic with it actually. It amazes me the power we put to the ground now reliably day after day.

Its so quiet here I notice threads quickly turning off track and into "other talk" and the population that is here is respectful and helpful for the most part. I take this as a win and see that when we get a new guy having trouble there are plenty to set them on the right path that we take for granted because we've already been down this road before.

You need a thread on the testing and finding/impressions on the TAPP primary.
No testing here, no snow, no Sidewinder....

It's been an absolute #*$&@ winter. Even when we were in northern Wisconsin their was snirt everywhere

Ps I think electrical gremlins are the next to pick up over the years. Seems like shorts are a.common occurence on efi/computerized sleds.

I would hate to pay the replacement cost of one of those new digital dashes

As a guy that has a 300HP 1100 trail sled, this forum was the main reason I ordered a 2022 Tcat. The great commentary, helpful tips and technical advice especially from guys like Mr. Knapp makes this site unique and highly valued. The level of knowledge and support here is greatly appreciated. Now, if I ever get my new Tcat I will be able to apply the lessons taught here. Kudos to all of you !

Perfectly said knappy....just means everyone is out enjoying their winders. Heading UP next Saturday for 8 days of riding. Can't wait to let the turbo sing.

I finally have my 2018 Sidewinder RTX setup the way I have wanted it from day one. Tuned, clutched properly, Fox 1.5s with DSC adjusters, and a mountain seat. This sled is a real weapon on the trails.

It has had a few quirks that I have had to iron out along the way. I may have given up on this sled if it weren't for this website. Thank you to all!

Where do I go from here? Part of me wants to sell it and order a Thundercat with EPS for next season. What is wrong with me?

What is wrong with me?
lol....not a damn thing kyster. I posted on another thread that I'm looking forward to seeing the new color schemes as I'm also thinking about ordering a new 2023. Not selling my 2018 50th anniversary though, maybe the 16 Viper but I doubt it.

I have to agree. Even stock. Its really the MOST FUN sled Ive ever ridden, and I almost feel bad for trashing Arctic Cat all those years.
Almost.
And a ride last week on local rural type farmland and woods conditions, I got 15.7 mpg. Best ever.

Just barely enough snow here BUT I got overboost situation controlled now! also closer on rpms . Only because of the people on TY. trying not to tear up. Just kidding. Thank you people!

Looking like you may get some snow Monday and Tuesday. Beautiful area to ride in SE MN. A friend and I trailered down there a few years ago when you guys got a 12" March dump. Trails and snow were great for 1 day lol. We dropped off across the street from the ski hill in a field. When we took off, it was a mud fest with everyone getting stuck. Some guy with a tractor was towing everyone out.

Mike, I'll be in Cochrane, Ontario from the 27th to the 4th. Load up your sled and come ride the best trails in Canada!
