Blue; mega negativetaity buddy. Good for you u got a good one. Hope we meet some time. I got a slow one but with mods it will be quick. You have not posted anything even close to positive on here. As a matter of fact you are very negative. Call me on my cell in Brandon at 729-7533 so we can meet in person & straighten some stuff out.I also test my set ups on snow; sled vs sled for a heads up comparison. Call me to get together or stop with these stupid posts all the time.

I try to post factual information as best I can. If I have an issue with something, I'll post. If I disagree with something, I'll post. Even if I disagree with the biggest TURKY on here, I'll post. So I don't agree with you on this one, get over it. Doesn't mean you have to invite me out to Brandon for a second dance. Seeing as I skipped the first invite for a slap fest. Don't get me wrong, I think your a smart guy, just let me be the smartass and we'll get along fine. BTW, I got a slow one according to your calculations. Oh, and what is that your second threat on me? isn't that against site rules?Turk said:Blue; mega negativetaity buddy. Good for you u got a good one. Hope we meet some time. the slap fest was from a few months ago. forget it, long term memory may be going. it's okay. If you truely did want to chat, I apologize, I took your post the wrong way. I'm not sure I'd want to hook up and race, I know I won't like the results. keep posting what you find, and I'll do the same. If I come across as a prick, I apologize in advance.

Guys, no name calling and no BSing, just add your information and move on.
Not every sled runs the same, nor do they produce the same horsepower! Different break in procedures by different riding styles. So many variables, oil, fuel, weight, windshield, track, studs/no studs, wind, hills, conditions all play a factor. Did anyone notice temperature when they were checking these RPM's? Mine will pull more on a clear cold day vs. a cloudy warm day. My RTX is one of the highest, but has had the bottle used many times now, and maybe shows more rpm's from High revving.
Let's make our own decisions based on the facts.

I see lots of people calling for data to back this theory up, Well I think that is exactly what Turk is trying to accomplish. While in some peoples opinion the data is not concrete there are so many variables as NOS pointed out it's practically impossible to get 100% accuracy. Turk has a theory that in a manufacturing process is very possible, One batch of exhausts may have came in that was much closer in tolerance than other batches. This would mean that they would have been installed for the most part on a sequential group of serial numbers. Whether you agree or dissagree this is data collection, give it a chance and see how it works out before you go off shooting down someone that is trying to figure it all out. It's not like Turk feeds us bad info :ORC

Turk said:Hey Tim
I lied & made all this up just trying to help people. I saw a discrepency in the way sleds performed & this info made me think which obviousely was a bad thing. Just trying to help people out wondering why their buds are beating them & trust me; there is a big diff. I am just trying to help. please remove me from the ty tech advisor staus.
Thanx!
Not sure were you are going with that post, I just question the exhaust. I do not doubt there are faster ones, always are and always will be but the exhaust seems very hard to believe as Yamaha would have tooled up and produced as many exhausts ++ to meet production and they would all be said and done long before they started building sleds. I have been working with some very large Japanese manufactures for over 20 years and I know how they operate and there production protocols, by the time they get to assembly every part is done and in their warehouse. A company of this magnitude will loose millions a day if the line is interrupted for any reason therefore every last nut and bolt is done and production starts and finishes without a hiccup.
I never once discounted your contributions to this site only offering healthy debate.
Mike, be very interesting to see how this all pans out and glad you started the thread. As much as I am a dis-believer you still had me going back and forth on the river for an hour staring at my microscopic RPM gauge instead of Bambi jumping in front of me (no lie) in the hopes I would see 9000 (you bugger)

So Yamaha doesn't use the "Just In Time" theory of parts delivery that most of the other big manufacturers use (Big 3)????

NO, if you every have the chance to tour a large Japanese OEM it will blow your mind. They are the model of efficiency, how do you think they can compete with Nth American products when they produce such top shelf product. Compare the quality of every component to a NA competitior and the difference is glaring, profitability can only be achieved by careful planning and that rules out JIT.

someone ask Chris on the yamaha blog website about all this exhaust stuff and about the serials and build dates affected. Instead of fighting
he'd be the one to get answers.

I think this is a good topic and I'm curious to see if something concrete is determined about the exhausts. I still have my doubts but undoubtedly stranger things have happened with mass produced products.

Marks Stock Nytro bangs the rev limiter leaving every corner on the trail and any time you punch the throttle it hits the limiter. Its really snappy we need to clutch it to make more use of its HP now.
Umm for mine it revs whatever I tell it to.

Was out all weekend and now the most mine will rev is 8600. In deep snow hits 84 85 then falls to 8200 . It seams like the weights are too heavy in mine. Does anyone know all the specs for the nytro
