gearing is 21/39
Seondary cam is a straight 43 I believe
Spring is a pink set at 3-3 twist
Primary - don't know spring or weight

Not every sled runs the same, nor do they produce the same horsepower! Different break in procedures by different riding styles. So many variables, oil, fuel, weight, windshield, track, studs/no studs, wind, hills, conditions all play a factor. Did anyone notice temperature when they were checking these RPM's? Mine will pull more on a clear cold day vs. a cloudy warm day. My RTX is one of the highest, but has had the bottle used many times now, and maybe shows more rpm's from High revving.
Let's make our own decisions based on the facts.
The moderators and TY lifers should lead by example and everyone should utilizing the PM feature here for tiffs like this especially when they completely side track the original topic.

This is what I got from my service manual
primary spring: yellow-silver-yellow
primary weight: 8GL
rivets: outer 10.3 / center 17.2 / inner 17.2
sec spring : pink
sec twist: 80 (2-6)
Helix: straight 43

my vin is 5601, sled runs harder than any 135 hp sled should. I have a 136x1.5 ripsaw and it pulls it easily with no changes, so I can imagine how easily a 121x1.25 would overrev. I also really doubt there was an exhaust change, I think its all in production varience and break in, that may prove to be wrong but that is fine with me. I know power when I have it and this thing pulls almost as hard as my 151 900 cat did. If turks theory turns out to be correct I wonder how they got 2 exhaust systems certified>

I absolutely agree.... This topic came out of pretty much nowhere and is just a slight distraction from the 99% ill handling/wet foot/cold hands discussions lately----IMOorange said:my vin is 5601, sled runs harder than any 135 hp sled should. With a free flowing silencer the FX Nytro will easily hit the rev limiter running the stock clutching and gearing.
Turk - thank you for your input on this one
BTW I think you will see a huge gain with the controller and exhaust, keep up the good work.

I didnt intend to disrespect turk with my comment and after sleeping on it for a night, I agree there are prob variations in speed from sled to sled and based on turks original post, I'll be curious to see how this comes out. But......I swear after the 20 (or so) different chassis changes I have made to mine since new, it "feels" slower AND I saw 105 (speedo) when it was brand new with like 8 miles on it and now that its "broke in" with over 800 miles, the best I can get lately is a consistent 99 and 101 once and I believe that was because the road dipped down slightly at that point.
When I get a chance and the snow dust isnt covering the gage, I do see the R's break 9 grand so although I havnt checked my build date, I wouldnt consider mine "fast" but my comparisons are to other sleds and how many of us have really had a chance to run exactly set-up Nytro's with similar miles side by side? And...... Im not exactly seeing a big diff from 10 miles to 800 miles in engine perf AND gas mileage either like I had always read and heard about Apex's/earlier 4 strokes. Im not doubting they make more power after brokin in especially after my Chevy Duramax experience after it hit about 7,500 miles, but are we mixing speed diffs and all of our chassis tweaks in the same breaths an not realizing the interaction??
Since mine does turn over 9, Im wondering if the banjo string track tension and increased ski pressure is why mine is slower than new and not faster since broke "broke in"??

Highest rpm I've seen so far on mine was 8950 rpms is powdery snow, over 1145 kms on mine to date. Usually on a groomed trail, I hit 8800 rpms or a bit lower to 8600 rpms. I changed my track to an Intense Powder with 1.5" lugs, so perhaps that's why I'm not hitting 9000 rpms or higher, who knows, but I would have liked to see how high it revved with the stock Ripsaw just for a comparison. Not sure on the build date, I removed the stickers from the tunnel for polishing, but I'll look into it. Also, with regards to the quieter, more free flowing exhaust theory, wouldn't the louder sounding models have the more free flowing mufflers, thus resulting in higher rpms ? Immediately, my neighbour and I noticed that his sled is a bit quieter than mine, so we'll have to test out his max rpm on the tach once his sled is broken in.

BTW, is the max rpm variation also taking the hard 8DN belt thats already cutting grooves into my primary. Could belt break-in diffs and sheave cleanliness skew this data?
I will be tuning to the Ultimax 3 after all of this anyow......

after 1600 kms, its now turning 9100-9200 very easy. 106mph on speedo max speed so far.
went to 1000' radar run on sunday. 100.5mph on the gun was the best it would go, speedo said 106

Ditto. 1700 km, spinning over 9100 with ease now, loose or hard pack. Livened right up at about 1580 km.
