A 2008 MTX uses 7 Tooth 3.0 Pitch drivers. The 2.6 will fit but you'll a hairline gap between the track and the front cooler. The other thing is that apparently 3.0 pitch isn't universal across the board from supplier to supplier. If you were to order a Camoplast (CAMSO) 3.0 pitch track, it'll work. However, if you use an Arctic Cat 3.0 Pitch track, you will have to cut off every second nub in the track's drive beside the windows, or it'll rub and bind and you'll have a bad vibration.
Secondly, the Powerclaw track is a good powder track, but bad on trails from what I've read. If you're looking for a good all around track, check out the Camoplast Challenger Extreme 15x162x2.5 3.0 Pitch, or the Composite-USA Talon M66.6.

Thanks for the advice. Have you used the Camoplast challenger. Will the paddles not fold over like the stock nytro track?

Challengers are great tracks, anything will perform better than a Nytro track.

I haven't ran the challenger extreme myself yet. But it is on order after the research I have done. The stock maverick track that comes on the nytro is a joke, it's got weak paddles. The only thing I like about my maverick track is the braking power lol.

With the newer style drivers i dont think its necessary to cut any nubs of the AC track or am i wrong ?
what year came the newer drivers ?

Your right SD. I run a 2.25 Power Claw on my 11 Nytro MTX and no need to cut anything off the track. It's a drop in.

Is there a consensus whether to go full 2.5" height if you are running stock power plus high altitude? I have just recently taken apart my 2008 for new drivers and rear end, was thinking about getting a new track as well, must say I haven't hated my maverick but then again don't know any different, my buddy has a power claw with timbersled rear end and cant really tell too big of a difference

I have the PC 2.6 on my 11 MTX & it works great with no clearance issues at all.

Had a 2.5 CE on my nytro and was night and day better the The maverick.
The maverick is better cut down than it is at full stock height.
I cut mine down to about 1.9''and it had better hook up. The lug folds right over when at the 2.25 height and is down right slippery.

I have the same track and I thought the same thing as you. It so much better and I can actually climb hills straight up instead of going at them sideways. Great track.I have to Challenger X2.5 Track on my nytro and its night and day difference form that piece of crap stock one.

So to clarify, the 2.6 PC fits fine? I've a 2010 stock 162 and need a replacement. I like the PC on the cats, but I'd rather not have to cut anything down. I've seen the CE 2.5 as well but wasn't as impressed, but anything is better than the stock, I think I'm missing a dozen lugs at this point. I've got to order the thing and would hate to ship out the wrong thing.

When I got my CE 2.5 they told me I could run either the CE or PC with nothing to change. Just bolt on.
I know for a fact that the CE is and assume the PC will be the same.

Just another note... If you shop around, you may find you could get the CE from an aftermarket supplier much cheaper then the PC which I had to get from cat.
I know you like the PC better but I have used both and if looking back I could have picked between a CE and PC when I bought my viper I would pick the CE.
Either track is leaps and bounds over the Mav.
Just an opinion!
Good luck!!
