Nobody should have to disguise what they are riding just to get info on a site..We all have the same thing in common and that's the passion for our sport, all are welcome no matter what you ride..just so happens that after 15 years on team Ski Doo mine and my wife's sleds are now Yamahas.. Thank you Yamaha for building the Sidewinder because if they didn't I have no doubt I would still be with Doo!

I saw a while back bark was from doo talk and rode a doo. he hasn't been stirring the pot as far as I've seen so who cares. he probably thought he had to say he was on a Yamaha to get a fair shake over here. if you read the Sidewinder stuff on doo talk they all claim you get kicked off this site if you ride anything but blue. of course we know that's not the case.
Welcome to the site. hope you find the info you need.

Thanks for understanding.....I just see this and how I became the topic I really don't know............
I first came on here looking for info on the SW because a buddy (JT) who was on dooTalk bought one, and I was very interested, and everyone I ride with now rides a 4stroke Yamaha......I'm old, not well, and am looking to buy one last sled to take me to the end of my journey but that sled HAS to be fast and can also be made faster with few out of pocket expense.....
My first few posts I called a few things "crap" and I didn't get well received.......I felt because I had an XP 800 listed as my sled that had something to do with it.......so I changed it to a Yamaha and immediately won some people over......then when more info came on the SW I changed it to that because at that point I was sold on that sled and knew I wanted one.........then the shootout results where revealed and people started congratulating me on the new sled (because I believe at that point it became validated) so I came clean.......I've pretty much been ski-doo since moto-ski left the scene.......and I know most will find this hard to believe but I could careless on what brand a person rides as long as it gives them enjoyment........I know some will find this hard to believe like I said but I don't lie, and my word is all I have so it has to be good........I knew when I type this lie on what sled I had someway, somehow it would come back to bite me in the #*$&@......I didn't know how....but just knew it would.........and here it is biting me.....
I want nothing more than to make some friends over here as I have on dooTalk and become well respected.......I can honestly say I had no positive responses from anyone except people who already knew me UNTIL I changed my sled to the SW.......I'm not looking for trouble.....I just wanted to get a non-bias opinion and feedback from people I didn't know....so I thought if I gave us all one common denominator (yamaha) we could build the rest.....I still hope thats true......

I didn't know you bought a SW. Congratulations.
I didn't.....it's a "total" lie........I changed my sled because "some" sites receive you better if you ride the same brand as in their sites title.....I was getting a bit of "unpositive" feed back in posts an PM's because I had XP 800 listed as my sled..........here I'm more established and people don't shun you for riding others brands as it's more about the people.........I joined "over there" so to watch, learn, an read as people were experiencing it and could ask questions if I needed to and not be just a lurker..........
busted bark a lounger
Yup you busted me.....so whatdaya going do with this info now that you've learned it......shun me because I spoke the truth and I ride a ski-doo........well pardon me for wanting to come in under the wire.....and from a fellow Mainer no less............This to me looks like someone stirring the pot and exactly the type of reception I was referring to.........

I know you from over there...and always enjoyed your views...
I would think nothing if you are riding yellow and coming over here to share some more opinions...they've always seemed fair regardless...
I can understand your thinking.
I cant say the same of others while doing the same as you in last few years when I rode green or yellow ...
I have ridden them all and enjoy them in different ways...

Bark...... I've been lurking over on DooTalk and have been enjoying the SW thread and really find it hard to believe what kind of traction that thread has had.
Both you and JT have earned my respect with your postings. I'm pretty sure that I'm about the same age as you are and I picked up a SW for this year. You're only as old as you think you are.
Don't think for one minute that your next sled will be your last. My best riding bud is 86 years young. He's slowed down a little bit the last couple of seasons but is still planning on riding this year.
Like the most interesting man in the world would say: "Stay Thirsty My Friend"
Sorry for straying off topic.

I just want to say one thing.. the perception about TY is that you have to drive Yamaha.. your wrong. Its about being respectful and loving the sport and doing it with an open mind. If you can do that, then you will love hanging out on TY.

Sorry....it's all my fault.....I'm the one who took it off track in an effort to clarify........
So......how 'bout those numbers huh? Pretty impressive for Yamaha at the Old Forge Shootout don't ya think?
Anyone who was there were the temps low an cold, and the run pretty firm an set when they started......cause I don't imagine after it started even if they were....they remained that way......TOO MUCH POWER BEING PUT DOWN by YAMAHA don;t ya think.......

Ok so MrSled the ''godfather'' has spoken. We all will except the old Lounger into our little blue world even if he still rides yellow. NOW back to NY shootout!
