I’m running on 240 dalton weighted empty,tp orange primary, b/o 70•, dalton 35/37Not enough clutch weight, or secondary is being pushed open prematurely, losing belt tension. Basically slipping... lol

Yea like Knapp said in the other post, dalton white secondary spring should be a better match in the secondary. The TP orange primary spring is a little light on the start for those dalton weights. You might want a little more spring down low.

Using the black/green dalton primary is an option. If you can hit your rpm’s at full throttle and it’s not dogging at low speeds keep the TP orange primary spring, the mileage will be better.

I'm not having issues with my setup. It's just quite different from what I've been hearing lately. My point was my clutches run cooler with less secondary pressure and I don't have belt issues.Well these sleds are very picky on offset. Have you tried a lower offset? Good idea to check your centers and parallel also. If your having issues running what others have found to work it’s usually a alignment issue.

Yes I know but I'm not fixing what isn't broke as I don't have belt issues.Interesting offset number. Sounds like the magic number has been 57.5 ?

Every setup is different. Center to center could be different, condition being run, tunes, belt used, traction and track selection, helix and primary setup used. What works for one may not work for another. Theres more than one way to skin a cat. Ice vs snow requires a fairly large change in secondary pressures, you can't compare those two.
My clutches run cooler with more secondary pressure and 8DN. My belt also lines up perfectly with Hurricane bar, I double checked it manually and its perfect with my c to c.

I agree 100% Mike. I'm not disagreeing with anything you guys are saying, just that what is working for me is kinda opposite of what I'm reading lately. I'm going on 5000 miles tuned and with the exception of my blown belts trying the TP spring I wouldn't have blown a belt yet.
The light secondary spring setup works for me and others for thousands of miles using just the 240 tune, but get into the big tunes running in actual snow and trail conditions and it just can't keep a grip on the belt up top even using low angle helixs. I'm forced at that point to run heavier secondary pressure springs if I want to run those big hard hitting tunes with good traction. If I try to run light driven spring like the b/o I can't MPH up top good up much over 100 MPH, yet I can run 125 on the small 240 tune, i'm talking on the trail in the snow here, not perfect ice conditions. Ice is different and not hard pulling.
Also the spring you tried is a large dia. wire spring that really wraps up tight as it goes thru its travel on the helix and twists hard. the Cat springs like I'm using are thinner wire that provide more side pressure and a bit less twisting force effect in comparison I believe, more like the stock spring, i.e. as it twists its gets much stiffer in twisting force.

Interesting. I do have a red cat spring I think... I got it from ulmer. I may have to give it a try.
