Are there any bulletins out for updates concerning the overheating of the phazers? My dealer acted as if i was stupid when hinting that I'd like to have a fan installed. The heat exchanger just clogs up. Is there a solution to prevent this from happening? I find it rediculous to have to flip the sled over and scrape the heat exchanger clean!!! I realize the fan doesn't fix this but it will prevent trouble when the exchanger is clogged up.

Complained each time I was out the following Monday to the shop. Heard the plugged cooler, low snow, etc...every excuse, never a fix. I requested a fan @ the end of last season, I still have to install come fall. If you have documented the issue with your dealer, request a fan. Otherwise, they may reject your request due to lack of documentation of an issue on your part.

overheating

just wait another month or so for the dealers to go to the 2008 snowmobile technical update meetings. i work at the dealer i bought my phazer from so i will be there telling yamaha about all my problems. but intill then they wont tell us nothing.

I complained to my dealer about this a couple times last winter, in the spring, I went in and asked for a fan to be installed. He said they would have to talk to yamaha. I stop back about every 3 weeks - as of Wednesday - he still hasn't " Talked to Yamaha" yet. At the same time this March, I brought in my 07 Phazer cover because a seam had split - I'm still waiting on that also.
I've been patient so far, but my patience is running thin. How long should I wait before calling Yamaha directly?

that's weird cuz back in feb,i had the overheating thing so i talked to my dealer about it and he said he would contact the rep for me.i went ahead and bought a fan anyway cuz i needed it,2 weeks later my dealer refunded my money for the fan,i was happy, that came directly from yamaha

I was told by my dealer that fans will be provided for those who ask. Those of us with standard which dont have wiring for fan will have to wait for a harness of some sort. That was last winter.

My dealer wrote on my slip it was not practical to install a fan. I'm dealing with Hollingers Sports n Turf in PA. Anyone have any luck with them? From what I heard F&S in Hanover, PA seems more on top of things and takes better care of customers.

My dealer just told me fan kits will be available sometime in Sept. He said they Will not be Free.

I bypassed the dealer because they had the same old song and dance about no overheating. Oh yeah, once on the trail I happen to stop next to the dealer on the side of the trail with antifreeze puking out all over the snow. No overheating? Really? Anyway I kept dealing with Yamaha directly and have a fan on the way this fall. Just remember a fan is not the total fix all. Many people do not have problems. Other have just been able to get the air out of the system. But yes, dealers have been about enough to make it hard to ride blue! But, really what other options are there? none for me.

I'm well aware the fan is not a fix for the overheating. The problem lies in the front heat exchanger getting clogged and iced over which then insulates and prevents fresh snow from comming in contact with the exchanger. I'd feel a whole lot better knowing there is a fan there to prevent overheat conditions. I mean really...who wants to cruise around with their eyes on the cluster watching for an overheat light when you are running in fresh snow!?! NOT ME!

the fan must work cuz never seen the light since it was installed.my dealer is awesome in those situation, they are called ''ag nor''john deere-yamaha.if you ever come in this part of the country, they will help you get back on the trail if your sled breaks down

Yami covered putting the fan in my buddies Phazer last winter. It did take 2 months to get in so we do not know if it did the trick.
The dealer was talking of a track change covered by yami. No word of that yet

My Phazer was overheating on a ride last winter, too. Stopped at a buddies house and drilled 6 holes with a 1.5 inch holesaw, evenly spaced, in front of the radiator in the plastic that covers it. After that, no more problems. It looks cool too!
