Pilot 6.9 ski's installed

I got them, and found out after they are made for Scotts TPs...not for a normal pilot carbide that bends up at back, Scotts are longer and dont bend up at back and he makes his savers to work with them.

Dan

have them with shaper bars...fit and layout is fine...moreso a question on its biting/handling and maybe drag? effects

update on my 6.9's with 6" shapers with 3/8 shim.

ran 1000kms in 3 days in northern ontario last week. sled absolutely rails. so predictable. carbide wear is even. LOVE this setup!

Likewise. 1000 miles on 3/8 " shim. Dead even carbide wear. Just installed Bergstrom triple points with ski savers. My ski's are one quarter inch toed out. Very hard snow today, had to use my scratchers. sled railed and absolutely no darting, not even a hint. With my 225 HP Hurricane tune, Elka shocks and bigger torsion spring this sled is now friggin perfect. I don't think it could perform any better. 5400 trouble free miles to date.

Good morning, could you tell me where you purchased your bigger torsion springs and the specs on them? Thanks, Ed

Still loving my Pilot 5.7's. Hard pack today and only very minor darting. No shims yet and wearing very even but only 620 miles on the sled.

I installed 6.9's with 8" executive carbide (+4" outers) and home-made 1/8" plastic shims about 2 weeks ago. I have run in conditions ranging from loose and torn up trails to relatively deep lake snow to icy hardpack. As with virtually any ski, there is still a bit of push in the loose stuff but it's predictable and consistent. Love the float in the deep stuff, and on hardpack, it carves beautifully with zero darting. It steers easier than the tuners but still takes some steering effort at times on hardpack (perhaps more noticeable after 5 years on an Apex EPS) ... but I consider it my upper body workout!

Carbide wear looks good so far but will update once (or given the weather, IF) I get some more miles on it.

Thanks to Dan for the great posts on the 6.9 installation instructions!

I have a set of marble black and white 6.9s with red loops setup for a winder mounting hardware included I would get rid of if anyone was interested 4.5in shapers and 4in round carbides on them.

Message me about price on your skis, i have a buddy that is thinking about these for his sled. and im close

Running Pilot 6.9 with skidoo 8” carbide down the middle and nothing else. No shims etc.

Was getting a lot of darting last weekend on hardpacked trails.

Should I be shimming the skis ?

I notice my old rev/ rt pilot carbides are straight bar whereas the xp 8" carbide bar has a slight radius, did I get the right 8" carbide, I tossed the packaging and dealer said they are all the same for xp and old rev.
