as a footnote...I think the tuners are set at 0 toe out and if you switch to a single runner keel you might want to adjust toe to 1/4"

I tried stock, then put shapers on them and it still pushed in loose snow and was unpredictable. Went to Curves with SJ Doolys and couldn't be happier.

What are you running for carbide on these?I put Doo 6.9 Pilot skis on mine and it feels like power steering. I would stay away from aggressive skis on these 4 strokes unless you have Popeye arms and work out regularly.

These stock Tuners are probably the worst ski I have ever had. Why? They are dangerous once you get more than 2 inches of snow and on hard packed trails they take way too much force to turn.
And yes I did try different shock and suspension settings with them, just plain junk.
Having a hard time believing Yamaha's choice in skis.
Have heard a lot of claims with the curve ski and added Slim Jims so that is where I am going. Just waiting for dealer to call and say they are in. Hoping the expensive skis work well for me. Time will tell.

I have always heard Cat and Yamaha skis are garbage especially when you add 180+studs 137" at 600+lbs... your not going to make a lifesaving quick turn thats for sure. Good topic, gave me the spark to act now. I am going in my garage to dig out my 5.7 Pilots right now.

So let me get this straight. You guys spend 14K on a new sled and Yamaha still can't make a decent pair of skis for it? How long has Yamaha been making snowmobiles? Completely ludicrous.

These skis are designed for the average rider, the average rider with average carbides they work great. Easy steering, no darting, very durable, and enough bite. That is if we ride "like normal human beings" me not being one. My experience with every sled I owned with stock skies needed some changes made to them be it carbide packages or suspension set ups before usually changing out to an aftermarket option. IMO I don't think a manufacturer should sell a machine with super aggressive ski unless equipped with power steering, there just not consumer friendly. So do the tuners suck? Maybe they do but again if riden normally I think there a good ski. Just my 2centsSo let me get this straight. BTX LE with the new mountain ski's and 6" woody's ace carbides. Great on and off trail. No darting no push. Seem to be a good ski so far.

I voted Arctic Cat skis. I am running 2016 Viper MTX skis with semi-agressive snow trackers. I did not need to ride the Tuners. A buddy has Tuner IIs on his '13 Apex SE and I know they push hard. Mainly I want floatation and snow trackers and the Tuner III keel design makes no sense to me. I have heard the new '17 MTX ski works well and that would be cheap but I doubt you can find them unless a takeoff. If I wasn't trying to be cheap I probably would have ordered white Curves.
