It was a bigger difference than I expected. Up to 6000 rpm, it was as normal, but after that it became much stronger. Otherwise it was completely stock. Much more fun than stock tune. How did you like the 225 flash? Did it waken it up a bit. Everything was still stock on clutching and exhaust using the 225?
Have you killed the Gates carbon belt yet ? Go to RockerDan build post. Dr. Dan fixes everything. It will COST ya though. Good things aint cheap, and cheap things aint good. And the MOST expensive is, time.Last year I drove Hurricane 225 flash, otherwise standard. Drove 2650 km (1650 mile) with 8jp, no problem.
This year I drive Hurricane 270 race with Thunder Products Big Venom kit and Orange Secondary set at 3,3. Running 6 km (4 mile) the belt went straight of, put on a used belt that lasted 100 km (62 mile), then it went straight of. Put on a new belt that lasted 250 km (155 mile), it went straight of. All the belts went off as I drove slowly and pulled hard on the gas. The first in loose snow on a lake. The other on hard snow on the trail. The last one was in deep snow. Now I'll try a Gates carbon.
Any suggestions on what to do otherwise?
I put the secondary at 40 (3 + 1) and the belt did not go off, but broke down on one side when I drove in deep snow. It got a little lazy at low speeds. I put an 8JP and took away 3/4 weight in heel and now it works very well. I'm considering setting a steeper helix and turning up to 50?Have you killed the Gates carbon belt yet ?
