Powerbloc 80 clutch review

Hi all
Just wanted to recap, finished season with about 1100 kms on the clutch and on a stock winder i think its the way to go!
Will put about 300 k on it this winter if we ever get going so wil post again on results in april 2022

Im not sure about the internals but the clutch was bought from cv tech in quebec and in description it said pre calibrated for sidewinder 998.
We bolted it on and drove it.
Shifting seemed bang on. Really liked it eill just have to see how it fairs out in the long run stay tuned

Did you race against another stock Sidewinder? Curious if its as efficient as stock primary.

We have 3 stock sidewinders 2 with yamaha clutches and the one with the recently added powerbloc
It ran and shifted equaly as good as the two with yamaha clutches i was honestly impressed!
The last time i used a powerbloc clutch was in th 80 s so i was definitely skeptical, if it wasnt for the fact that we needed a clutch within 4 days i probably would have never decided to try it, but it was available and we needed one asap so we ordered and have had no regrets

Does anyone know the limit (hp wise) to this clutch?

I ran one on my 240HP turbo 1200 Doo that would outrun the 270 Winders at the time. Precision Sports makes a billet cup and they run them on their 300 HP 1200's. Lots of guys say they are junk but haven't ran them. I've broken one cup on them myself on my NA 1200. Put on a new cup and away you go again. Shakes like a biotch when they break and can't believe the whole thing doesn't blow up, but they don't.

CVTech used to say the cups broke because we used larger TRA springs in them, but they also break the spring cups using their own springs as well, so that's the only drawback I see. The PB80 works well. I had one for my winder but sold it to a guy that needed it more than me.

I wouldn't hesitate to run it, and I love them on the Doos, but also know it will not overdrive as far as a Yamaha primary with Yamaha stock belt either. It's short on shift out ratio.

How's everyones PB80 standing up?

I'm starting to get higher miles Winders in due for clutch rebuilds.

With just the rollers and weights coming in at $510, I'm leaning towards this option.

Mines been awesome!! Probably have around 4000km’s on it!! Best improvement I’ve done to the sled!! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to ride! No snow!!

Do it. Nothing wrong with the PB80's at all. You'll need the holder for install and tuning, along with a special puller.
