Pro Rmk front on Nytro...

Do you run out of adjustment with the stock axle and wheel ?

What kind of offset axle do you have ?
There is a model that moves up and forward and others that just moves the axle up.

9" on the stock axle fit fine but they hang lower than the skid rails I have been running mine this way all season without issues but its not quite right. But when you add the offset axle in with the 9" wheels it pushes the wheels back and up further and you will never be able to get the 162 track on. Atleast that was the issue with my sled when I put the rmk skid in stock nytro locations. I am hoping my track will end up stretching enough for me to get that axle in eventually. Cuz I bought the axle not knowing I wasnt gonna have room to fit it in.

Yes I run out of adjustment with the stock rmk wheel and I had a brand new track. I have 9" wheels from avid products and have an axle from TKI CNC and it moved it up and back and its just to much I tried flipping it around and going up and forward and I ran out of adjustment again. If there are models that do just go up you should be fine but any that go back you wont be able to get the skid in.

A short clip on my lunch break (in Daylight).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMyOgFhLUus

A bit after the movie clip my exhaust wrap started to smoke and became dark, so i quickly turned it of.
I cut up the wrap around the header to exhaust tube clamp looking for a leak but did not find any, i did a Another test later when it was dark outside and then i saw that my header just about turned glowing red in the area with no exhaust wrap so turned it off again and let it cool down (no overheating warning light came on).

What do you guys Think ?
My testrides has just been slightly above engagemant and no full throttle, could i be running lean on low rpms ? or is it something else ?

I have now adjustet the CO and turned up fuel pressure a bit, but i Think i have to get a AFR gauge Before any more test drives.
i also have a coolant temp. gauge on the way.

Exhaust wraps will "burn in" when they're new. Some brands more than others. They shouldn't catch fire.

Hat's off to you, Sportster ... Given what you had to work with when you started this thread, I honestly doubted whether it would all come together for you. But I didn't know you, or the drive/determination behind your vision. Gotta give you recognition for what you've accomplished ... job well done. ;)!

It may be a low quality wrap that i used but this "burn" looks to much, and the fumes where nasty and made my eyes hurt.

Thanks, its been a fun build and its far from over.

Battery holder installed.

The new fuel pump and filter.

Installed.

I turned the fuel inlet forward to meet the fuel hose.

Removed the internal fuel pump.

Added another fuel pick up to the front right corner.

Water temp. gauge sensor installed in thermostat housing.

Welded a piece of tube to the top of the thermostat housing, the filler will be connected there.

I also had a problem with loosing power to the fuel pump now and then, it was the starter relay, so i replaced it with cheap relay of Ebay it was for a RS Viking so it had different connectors but it was a easy mod.

And i have a AFR gauge on the way to monitor if its lean.
I googled glowing header and some people had that problem on some 4 stroke dirtbikes when running it on idle to long in combination with a lean spot in the lower rpm:s.

Replaced the thermostat housing to my modded one, i used my inline filler by closing of one side.
much easier to bleed the system with the filler being the highest point.

That wrap looks fine to me. The first run on mine smoked so much I thought it was on fire. I hurried and yanked the gas tank off only to find it doing what yours is. It will eventually quit smoking (and stinking).

Water temp, AFR gauge and aluminum throttle block installed.

And i started on closing of the open area around tha gas tank filler, i used flexible speaker grill material that i soaked in resin.

Removed the gas cap after it had hardened over night.

Used some fiberglass reinforced bondo.

And removed it.

Reinforced it with fiberglass.

One layer of bondo and painted it with some paint i had laying around to se the shape better, drilled hole for the tether and ignitoon key.
I have to buy some switches for the hand/thumb warmer and light and sand it some more.
