Excuse me if there is already a topic buit I think this is one of the coolest fetures of the Phazer!!!

They need to add this to the all the four strokes. it would dump another 10 plus pounds off each sled.

I agree on adding to all 4-strokes machines...No sure about 10 lbs, would probably eliminate the hand levers and be replaced with an electronic solenoid, gear box would probably stay the same too.

I'm guessing this is similar to the Doo electronic reverse. If that's the case you eliminate all the extra stuff in the chain case for the reverse and the bracket and handle you need to engage the reverse.

I'm quite sure that it just activates a solenoid, would only eliminate the lever, these four strokes won't spin backwards like doo and pol .

I am quite sure you are correct.

It is listed as an electronic shift which would make it similar to the push button 4 wheel drive in trucks. push the button and it activates the the gear in the transmission.

I am glad that they are trying it on the phazer and I am sure they will bring it to the others when they know it works good.

Your guessing alright you cant run a four stroke backwards only two strokes.

The Phazer uses a small gearbox between the secondary and the chaincase (close to the chaincase side) this small gearbox is responsible for the electronic reverse operation. Little bit lighter than the current reverse kit, however much more convenient.

Damm I thought Yamaha had figured a way to run a four stroke backwards. I got excited for a minute. My bad!!!

Tried that at first, but couldn't get the engine to run right :drink:

FYI;

Polaris right now on their 4 Stroke Model has a RECAL.

"TOO DISENGAGE THE PUSH BUTTON REVERSE"

The solenoid that drives it Forward & Backwards Sticks or Jams, You might not be able to get the sled in or out of reverse. Some have jammed and left owners with NOTHING.......Forwards or Reverse.

Nice Fix Polaris.........NO REVERSE.....PERIOD!

I guess Synchrones are just to expensive to put in, Probably Was Well Planned Out Hey................

.......NOT

Sure make Our Three Key Issues seem Pretty Small by Comparison

I just ran into a guy last week claims he ended up driving his FST home backwards for 5 miles!!

Just for your info you can run a 4stroke backwards. But you have to change all the valve tran to run backwards. Its been down in racing before to get torq to twist the car and make it hook.

I will believe it when I see that one. What about the firing order and before top dead center timing not after top dead center timing just turning it backward would make it fire when the cylinder is on the way down after top dead center.
