I purchased the bundle of flashes from hurricane and am wondering what others are doing to be able to see the real time data logging. I know TD has a pricey option for the Ipad mini... And I saw trailsystems has an iphone mount with charging for about 200 bucks.
From what I have read, the iphone won't stay on in the cold even being charged making me think any basic mount system won't work. Has anybody found any other options than what I mentioned above?

Im only worried about using it to check boost levels and a few other parameters....but day to day wont have it mounted for riding normally....
Ill probably just make up something temporary.
If you want it more permanent, there are many auto type phone holders, just google it.

In my experience an iPhone even hardwired charging from the sled will not be warm enough to use mounted on the sled when it’s cold (~<25° f). I gave up on using my iPhone in this way for that reason. I would imagine there are heated cradles that might work. And also there are a lot of full plastic enclosure mounts for bicycles that could also work you might even be able to add heating element into one of those. If you can find an enclosure or heating cradle that you think will work just look up ram mounts. there are countless ways to mount to the sled - the riser, the handlebars, or the plastics

Yeah I did my homework before posting and the average universal mount/holder isn't going to cut it. Like ActionJack said the phone won't stay on even when charging. Maybe I won't be able to use the phone, but I would like to if possible. I'd likely run the Polaris Ride command app as well now that you can download maps offline.

I have my iPhone in a life proof case and you can buy a locking belt clip that I made a little aluminum mount to mount it to the grill where the heated goggle bag mounts I’m hoping enough engine heat will escape to keep my phone warm.
Just hard wire the wireless charging pad. It also heats the phone. They are real cheap too.

Bringing this to the top because I just want to use my phone too. I don't want to change the gauge and run that huge ipod mini or whatever it is on top of that.
I'm thinking about about wiring in a grip heating element behind one of these life proof bags on e-bay or amazon.

I ordered a universal thumb warmer element that I will attach to the mount and set my phone on it.

You guys don't think the thumb or hand warmer element will get too hot?

I got this mount and am now not going to use it since I went the iPad route. It would have worked very well, but I decided I just wanted the iPad mini.

TrailSystems.com was at snow show. Their wireless charging system heats the phone.

The first year I tried to use my iPhone as primary GPS it lasted less than 10 Miles due to the cold. If you can keep it warm it will work. I was using a LifeProof case which left the screen exposed. If I was to try it again I would have a full heated enclosure. Once it gets cold it will shut down. I don’t want to F with that during riding. So now my phone stays my phone inside my bibs pocket inside my coat. Then when I need it I have it. The other negative is bad weather. A GPS can be a Lifesaver but in bad weather I won’t ever again rely on my iPhone as my primary GPS to save my life - waverrunners in 6-8’ surf crossing the Deleware Bay.
Yup still carry a compass and map Just very rarely have to use them.

This what I use with a 8 inch tablet with a OtterBox case and a ram ball mount on the handlebars.
I have been using it for two years on my sled, never had tablet fall out of mount.
I just plug my car charger in the powerpoint.
I use the rider x app for a trail map and GPS.
