So it sounds like no 'cell data' is needed for live data feed correct?
Is the only time you need an actual connection, just when you initially get your maps from vendor? I guess i have not looked into how to do it yet...sorry guys.

Yes that's how most work.So it sounds like no 'cell data' is needed for live data feed correct?

Could you not just piggy back with "personal hot spot" to the second device, since it sounds like you'll still be carrying your everyday cell phone with you, in your pocket for example. So it sounds like no 'cell data' is needed for live data feed correct?

I hope they can figure it out - hard to believe they wouldn't want to carry on what was essentially a family business. I knew Jim was a leading force, but kinda thought his son would keep it going. OSP made GREAT stuff. At this point.. just an idea... things have changed big time at osp... like appears out of business? So i have to source the mount

The maps must be installed on the flasher from your PC and then they are stored on the flasher the only thing your phone does is send the flasher a signal to tell the flasher what map to load into the sled. All data logging can be done without cell service. So it sounds like no 'cell data' is needed for live data feed correct?

Thank you Sir! I was hoping for a definitive answer. Another question....Not a problem the flasher with live viewing and datalogging is a must have for any racer or tuner!
If you dont have a phone/ipad mounted.....
Would you then need to datalog, to see your values when riding? Being that you would stop, grab phone and data would be saved or "logged", correct?
That being said, do you have to carry phone in pocket to have it data log? Or can the data be saved/logged and then downloaded to your phone or pc when you get back home?
Any details on logging vs. live data is appreciated...as I have not played with any of this yet.

I think to data log you still need to carry phone in pocket.....and the cost is extra to buy data logging. $250 or so? Cheaper to buy a used ipad mini or just use iPhone in case and then watch live data.
So I might just grab a cheapo case for my iPhone so I can periodically mount it up to be sure all is well with boost leaks, and other things..but likely not run this all the time.
Something like this is waterproof and touch screen friendly....cheap too. (poor reviews on this one so I removed the pics, but found a better quality one, go down a few posts)

You are correct your phone has to be within Bluetooth range (pocket, dash) to datalog whenever you are seeing live values you are recording and can hit the save button to save a datalog. The datalogs are recorded on the phone not the flasher. I hope that answers your question. If not I’ll try and clarify betterAnother question....
