There's something wrong with the apex probably poor stock clutching, they take some minor clutching to make them fly, no stock 850 doo would touch a well set up stock apex

The 136 Version (Attak) Apex is and was the faster one. The 121's had issues hooking up and they are geared taller. I always felt their handling was squirrely too if that's a word! LOL.

I just sold my 2007 Attak in January with 16,000 miles on it. I swapped the track with a Ripsaw II which hooked way better than the original Ripsaw and I put in a Proline clutch kit. Hands down the best clutch setup I have seen on a stocker and the difference when doing a real world side by side test leaving one stock is mind boggling. It's like I added another cylinder. The only other thing I had done was machining the clutch faces. The original owner rode with his wife and was an easy rider and it had grooves in the faces from driving it around 50 mph constantly. I did not have them overdrived but just had them machined and he cut down the split rings in doing so. After that my belt really gripped like crazy. Everyone that drove it would comment......man this things pulls like a freight train...one friend said, it feels viscous!!

I can honestly say I ran my share of 800's and 850's and never was close to being beat. I kind of had a hard time selling that thing this year. I kind of wonder if the old saying isn't true with the Apex sleds? The more miles the faster they get!!

There must be a lot of women buying sleds these days and very few guys. The 900t probably outsold any 998 Yamaha by about 100 to 1.

I don’t see it Joe. I have only one friend with a 900t, I have another that has one but has it for sale and has already bought a 850 to replace it. So no one I know ordered a 900t. But I have other friends still buying 998s and they outnumber the doos now by maybe 15:1 in my group of riders I ride with. It used to be complete opposite of that with everyone owning doo.

Now don’t get me wrong I love the Doos, and the 900t is a nice sled, it’s just not exciting or that great. I also don’t see the number of riders bragging it up on DOOTalk like they did with the 1200’s. Only a select few even talking about it really. Maybe boring is good, but I like something a little more exciting.

I have 4 in my group that ordered 900s and 3 of 4 are doing tunes right away. They're just tired of the same old etecs. The 850's in our group last yr guzzled oil like crazy up north. I'm hoping brp can at least give us something around 190 to start with. Otherwise im good trail riding at 290 lol.

Cool by machining the split collar you woke up the beast and introduced some overdrive i machined the secondary too to allow the anticipated 1:1 those sleds were so detuned from the factory and complete dogs with out a clutch mod where the srx now was completely dialed in from the factory and i never had to touch the clutches

Ya i could see that since we only have to buy a yamaha every ten years as opposed to a doo or poo every other year if they last that long

I only rode in Vermont this year, but I was surprised that I did not see many 900T's in my travels. I saw many 850's and 600R's. I'm sure Quebec is littered with 900T's.

I saw a TON of the new Polaris Indy's in 600, 800, and 850 this winter. They must have done well with those.

Here in northern Wisconsin and the UP, there are Sidewinders everywhere, very few 900t’s. Lots of 850 doo’s and Poo’s tho, I smoke all those Foo’s!

Hey if you don’t mind second place buy a 900t!

Last year riding in Maine it was only an occasional sidewinder siting and when I pulled up to a popular watering hole I would get some interested soles wanting to get a peak at the beast. This year they were everywhere and many times I witnessed packs of Winders riding past me. If there wasn't a winder in every group it was surprising. I didn't see many 900t, but plenty of 850's on the trail.

The problem with the 900t is not reliability, nor longevity. Its the LACK of performance feel. There really is only one issue with that sled, and its such a big issue that noone who rides with performance in mind will want one, unless they never test rode one first.

The throttle system is a huge fail, and has easily become the most well known issue brought up by all test riders and magazine/tv riders.

This is the reason i went 850 over 900t....heck when they are tuned the throttle is worse then stock even.

Dan

This whole itc throttle lag thing and other g4 issues are the reason I just let time pass away on any spring order....same for 998 issues.
