its a felony if you get caught
Doesn't stop crooks...............

Thats the problem.. if you buy something used, and theres been more then one owner, what proof would anyone have whos the one that did it.. I mean if you bought a used sled and had no idea at all you got screwed, then sold it and someone came back to you, doesnt mean you did it.. Who knows, all I know is crooks should be shot.

Kinda slippery slope topic, that always ends with the current owner being screwed..

After reading the dootalk post and now realizing how prevalent this can be, I for one will be damn sure I know what I'm buying if I buy anything used..

Guys, It's not that I don't agree with all of this, because I do. But I actually think the snowmobile community (in particular the TY community) is actually some of the best people around.

That being said, there is always bad apples everywhere. We all know this crap happens everyday. I bet it even happens a lot more with automobiles and motor bikes.

But anytime a person buys something used, even from a dealer, it is always "buyer beware", at least in MN.....

Now is it technically fraudulent to roll back mileage, cover up broken items, non disclosure of crucial problems, etc.???????? Of course. BUT as the buyer, unless you can PROVE the seller knew of material defects prior to the sale, you have no case in the civil or especially the criminal realm.

There are criminals everywhere, but thank god most people are just good old fashioned good people.

This is why is vitally important that you actually LOOK at the sled! Engine mileage on a 4 stroke isn't a huge issue but the chassis will tell you a story if you look closely...and if the guy is going to go through the trouble of changing all the wear items..well then he's changing out all the worn bits lol. I've always said (and this is especially true with Yamahas) that condition is WAY more important then mileage.
