I'm going to measure my 10,000 mile sprocket i just changed.
I might have just been lucky.
I think SteveO the Clutchman may have a good point back a bit with the bigger gears.
It's the only difference between good & bad ones. I'm going to change the sprocket & chain every year now.
I think when the chain stretches it gets exponentially worse.

Apparently you can't read. I purchased a new 2020 850, sold my 18 with 4100 miles on. I know the 2 stroke game. Yes if only talking motors that goes to the sidewinder. I love my sidewinder but my personal experience owning 3 of these cat chassis since 2012 with over 20,000 miles on them, yes reliability and quality is at the bottom, sorry if that hurts your feelings. I won't list areas of weakness, can read this forum for those, but look at my profile pic is one of them. I opened up so many of those chaincases, thank you Scott Taylor since 2012. I'm not brand loyal. Can't beat that rush of boosted yamaha power.Reliability goes to the 850 eh? In another 4k miles your engine will be worn out. Oh yea with 4K on it already you lucky the motor hasn’t blown up yet. Maybe this is the year you learn your lesson?

Didn’t hurt my feelings at all, I just don’t agree with your statement about reliability. A bearing going bad or slipping out of gear is a inconvenience and sucks.
Engine failure is major issue that carries a lot more weight IMO.
Yes I know how to read Jafo, I’ve been reading your posts on clutching in the Cat forum for years. Glad you lost the Superman cape profile pic, kinda misleading.

Definitely would love to own two sleds, 2s and turbo. 2s needs to get updated as the resale blows with any decent miles on them, and need to stay in warranty as they are ticking time bombs. But they sure are fun. Turbo I would keep much longer typically, just keep up with the issues we know all about. We're like that Hot Crazy Ex-girlfriend to Dan. He just can't stay away.
Great in the sack, but.....................................................................................just CRAZY!
Dan needs 2 sleds. I used to ride VT where i'd be better off on an 850.
That's why i ride Maine!
Problem is, sledding has got way outa control. Cost of these sleds has doubled in the last decade pretty much, just sucks as this is the one hobby I just can't give up, ive slowly given most the others up and they were all cheaper!

Dan, There is a solution. A used 1200 turbo, that way you'll get a lightweight quality Doo with mega power. A 240 Doo 1200 turbo will run with a 270-280 Winder/Cat all day long, but good luck keeping the front end down when under power. Makes for a point and shoot machine, not quite the handling and good ride up front , but typical normal Doo front end. You might like it if you like to pull the front end like that. Still kinda miss that instant and violent 1200 turbo power myself. the Winder just doesn't have that.
Maybe so but they are just ugly. My opinion of course.Dan, There is a solution. A used 1200 turbo, that way you'll get a lightweight quality Doo with mega power. Are they lighter weight than the Winder?
By alot! The winder is a TANK. The 1200 Turbo Doo is a lightweight, The Winder I believe is about 75-80 lbs heavier than my old turbo 1200.

Hey Mike....Dan, There is a solution. A used 1200 turbo, that way you'll get a lightweight quality Doo with mega power. Not sure if you remember but I did alot of research back in '16/'17.....When I owned my '16 4tec on adding a turbo kit. Buddy has a XR with mild kit that he works on alot(180) and we know of a McXpress that is always fast along with the Motec which I really wanted, I also talked in length with Olivier' at Boost Engineering as I was running his NA ECU tune and stock modded muffler already on that sled. He offered me a killer deal too.
But in the end, the cost I would incur to add a turbo kit, and then the tuning time involved was not gonna be cheap, and I did not think the handling was super great on that sled. Sure it was lighter than the Winder by a good 60lbs or so(129 to 129) but that weight IMO is not felt so much on the Winder. The shocks on those X sleds were just so-so where the Winder with Qs3r certainly made them work well. Even with more weight, I always felt the Winder just rode better and handled better then the XS ever did. I just sat on a XS at my dealer, and man does it feel OLD school, very low seating and just FAT in the cowl. Winder is much better ergos IMO.
Now the G4 i do love, as far as chassie and shock package. But its too bad BRP made the 900t such a turd. Guys adding tunes are basically as fast as the stock 850, they just dont want to make any big top end speed. 998 is the only game in town for big power for me now...those 1200s certainly can make huge power but they are far outdated now for trail riding. And for tight stuff, the 850 is a true turnkey flickable sled, that makes you feel 18 again. Its too bad you cannot run them too long, basically throw away engines. grrrr. And man do I hate burning oil!
On the look out for a Cat 998 for sure next sled....might not be as pretty colors as the Winders or as good a warranty behind them, but I feel the TEAM clutching and gearing out of the box is a sick corner to corner trail masher and we know the issues that need addressing so warranty should be not needed. Will see what Yam and Cat do for '21 models, if anything at all.

Call these guys. TA Motorsports. Yes I used to work there but honestly just really impressed by there inventory and prices this year. No excuse for not getting in game again!Hey Mike....

I have several dealers closer to me with better prices on 19s.....found a 129 Sno pro 2019 13,500 only(NEW) and could add good shocks.
https://www.campbell-peterson.com/i...no-pro-129-green-greenville-pa-16125-2407138i
I wouldn't mind finding a used sled either...since we know all the issues and will fix them anyway.
I do like the 19s or newer though.

Those were msrp prices. Have to call TA for the real prices. Its worth the call since most are Special Services or ones that came from other dealers. VERY good prices.I have several dealers closer to me with better prices on 19s.....found a 129 Sno pro 2019 13,500 only(NEW) and could add good shocks.

I was a hair away from getting a 7000 Limited leftover from there. Wife says I need a new truck first. Still bugging me since my truck never made me walk!
