RS mechanical cam chain tension problem bulletin

Yamaha is covering it. It just depends on your dealer if they want to look into it. I think some dealers are just being lazy about it.

chain

I agree with cena I call his dealer and they said bring it down and we will fix it! But I am in ontario so I called Bob Weaver in new york and he is looking in to it for me. Cena's dealer gave me the yamaha notice number so I gave it to Bob weaver motersports and they are going to follow up with yamaha! I will keep you posted.
Ps ;my yamaha is a us model

my local dealer said they it would be covered (out of warranty), but then he ran my VIN# and it is a U.S. origin sled, and Yamaha Canada will not cover it. Called 2 U.S. dealers that are close to me and both said they will fix it but at a cost of about $700 :o|

On page 6 of this thread under MEDIC944 is his post of April 17th of a copy of the original Yamaha Tech notification that went out to ALL DEALERS. My dealer stood by me and fixed it under warranty. I will be sending Yamaha a nice letter thanking them for doing this. MiKe Hayden, 05 RS Vector ER @ 5100 miles.

apparently this is only a US problem, the sleds are different than those sold in Canada, so says my dealer, they don't receive the same bulletins as those in the US. they have not had one engine problem in all 120 hp models sold.

Ya that's what my dealer told me too LOL... The internet just postes lies and bullshit LOL ...

Has anyone found a dealer in SE or Central Michigan that is covering the tensioner replacement? I have my local dealer (Kensington Motorsports) looking into it and am waiting to hear back from them. G.B.

Mine in Kazoo did'nt know anything.......................... Hmmmmmmmmm. MM.

It's easier for a dealer to play dumb than have to eat the 7 hour labor charge to fix it....It will definitely weed out the good and bad dealers out there...
