Nolan N102 Solids $304.99 $274.99 On Sale!

Colored for a 100 more.
The smartest visor yet.
Don't see heated visor option, but
a challenge dremel can't alter.
Bought a Nolan 100 a few years ago...very cold and visor system doesn't work to great in the winter. I bought a heated shield but it has a small field of view.
Philscbx said:To make a choice of helmet is still very difficult even if money means nothing, and $350 is getting there. Like the X-Team Modular, and BV2's at close to $500. Sure hope the chin flips.
I don't see the EXO BRP version on the SkiDoo site.
One person claims"
the BV2S being really cold at higher speeds. And is now looking at Scorp.
So a helmet at half the price is better than than the top of the line BV2S? I somewhat dought that, but I'm all for the poly helmets vs the heavier fiberglass.
I do prefer the design of my HJC fulface flip for warm cruiser riding with the flip up chin, and shield. Modified before riding a sled, it should be doable if breathing mask, and heated shield was used. Some testing will happen for sure. The shield may have to be modified a tighter air fit.
The flip HJC was under $200 if I recall.
I'll never go back to solid chin design fulface.
Not for club riding anyway. Too old fashion.
Trying to talk into solid chin design is going to make it messy regardless, with excess steam and hard to be heard by others. The trouble with removing it just to talk, and now it's cold. Nonsense.
The BVS isn't even Snell (or was it DOT, it's doesnt' have the more stringent rating?) rated, the Scorpion is, so you don't always get what you pay for. FWIW, I have 400 miles on my Scorpion EXO700, and love it. The visor indicator light is a great idea, you can see it in your peripheral while you ride, to make sure it's working. I always had a problem with watery eyes on my HJC 12 and 14s, I don't have it with the Scorpion. I have noticed the the neck "sock" needs to be in place, for max wind protection inside the helmet, mine had airflow inside the helmet at high speeds without it. I like the venting too, you can really feel it work when they're open. A buddy who was with me had the same helmet, and his shield seemed to be having fog issues (the double panes didn't seem well bonded), so I can see why not everyone might be thrilled with theirs. I'm not crazy about the sun shiel, at least the standard color. Yellow is better for low light conditions, and amber ain't all that great for sun imo.

Snell or DOT or Both
I wouldn't discount not buying a helmet that isn't Snell rated as a DOT-approved lid could be as good or better in an accident.
In fact, the interior of a Snell-rated helmet may be too hard and be worse in a crash, not allowing the interior material to absorb the impact, and transmitting more force to your head.
I'll try and find a link to a cycle magazine test and you can decide for yourself.
I know racing organizations are sold on Snell ratings, but when have they last updated them, or DOT for that matter?
As for the Scorpion lids and some of the issues I see posted here, contact via phone or e-mail directly to Scorpion for assistance-can only help to get you on the right track!

Just got back from a 600 mile ride in -25F to -30F temps. The EXO400 worked great! Never fogged once and was very warm and comfortable. Not AS quiet and warm as the BV2S but I hated those cotton liners so for the money,.....the EXO is awesome!
1,200 miles so far on my BRP EXO 400. Non-electric shield. Vent plugs under the liner removed, all vents open, nosecone in place and firmly pressed against my face. To date this helmet is the best and most comfortable helmet I've ever used for trail riding. It will not move enough air for extended aggressive riding...I still believe the MX style is the only way to go for true hard ditchbanging and boondocking. But for short spurts of working it pretty hard so far there's been absolutely zero fog, despite being a non-electric. Drop down sunsheield is a Godsend.
I must add that the coldest I've had a chance to ride so far is about 10F above...so I don't consider it fully tested yet. Shield fog issues in my experience won't rear their ugly head until it gets about 20 degrees colder than that.
It's been a very strange, warm winter so far.

I bought direct from Scorpion but I think you can get better deals elsewhere. I paid $239 for my EXO400 with elec. shield.

My shield is fogging also!! Moisture is getting between the 2 panes. Scorpion is sending me my 3rd, yes 3rd, shield soon. Its not unbearable but right in your eysight there is some slight fog. Very annoying with a brand new helmet. I must say Scorpion has been very easy to deal with. I have no doubt they will fix my problem. I thought I would read about more people having this issue. Helmet fits great.

Wow....I completely forgot about the eyes watering thing until I read this. You're absolutely right...at high speeds my HJC 14 would cause my eyes to water. But not at all with the Scorpion. Obviously it's letting less air in, while still controlling the fog.
And I agree totally on the amber shield...good for flat light only on overcast days, but not good at all for sunlight. As soon as I got the helmet home from the Doo dealer, I immediately ordered the dark tint visor from Scorp and removed the amber...very nice for sun and far more useful IMO.

I just got back from a trip at -10F with my exo400. The electric shield works great, but the sun visor frosts easily (not using the breath box or nose piece as these are a waste of time if you wear eyeglasses). My glasses still fog in this helmet with the least bit of physical exertion with the shield closed. If you leave it open a crack you can get by, but risk freezing your face. If you are taking it easy there seems to be enough airflow.
Problems: The chin area is cold even with a balaclava and the chin guard. Also the area where the sunshield parks when not is use gets loaded with snow dust and frost. When you go in to warm up is turns into water drops that will freeze the sunshield in place unless you take it apart and dry it before you go back in the cold.
Overall, it is still not the perfect helmet for eyeglass wearers. but neither was my HJC or Z1R...(they have POOR electric shields)
