Second ride report

I also bought my old 9" PE big wheel axle and wheels back. I found a great deal on a new 150x15x2.5 camo extreme and with the axle turned around and 9" wheels it should fit perfect without having to setback the skid.

Finally 99% done on the tunnel. Just need to weld the extrusion and it can be powdercoated. Hopefully I'll be able to take everything to the PCers next Friday.

Also have new Whal drivers, tie rods, and ball joints coming. And I'm having the upper a-arm tie rod ends shaved down 2.5 mm.

No, honestly I'm afraid too but I'll put it on the scale anyway. I'm really hoping I can get boost and then the weight won't matter.

I dropped all four shocks off yesterday and should have them back next week. I also got everything else cleaned up and ready to PC.

I started on the hood tonight and will post pictures with progress.

Are you just trying to close off the holes or come up with a whole new shape?

I got a request to make a fiberglass hood for a turbo owner that had the headlight and everything blocked off. It will be shaped a little differently, mostly all the corners will be rounded and valleys filled in. And there will be no provisions for a windshield(the nubs where the screws go in got cut off). I will be making extras if these turn out good. I should be applying the bondo tomorrow and I'll post some more pics as I go.

All done trimming the foam and cutting the hood. Running to the store now to get bondo :D I almost cried cutting into a brand new hood lol

is that just the spray in foam/insulation stuff that comes in a can? haha

what are you after? I see u have a bunch under the hood too??
edit: nm i saw your reply above. 'custom hood' cool

what for "boost" u considering?

get something with very good header support if its a mid mount!!
for your style of air. ;)

The hood initially was for someone else with a turbo. I'm saving my money for stage 1 MPI blower, hopefully before Christmas.

The foam is just the stuff in the can. It was sprayed on the back so I could cut the top of the hood off and have something to bondo to. I have some really nice $40 two part foam but decided to try the cheap stuff which ended up working fine.

Here is a pic with the first coat of bondo. It's got fiberglass mixed in to help fill the larger spaces. Once I get it all smooth I'll bondo again with liquid.

LOL...sorry, meant have you weighed the tunnel vs. stock...the stock tunnels are surprisingly heavy with all the rivets/overlaps/etc...

Did you ever get the 440 shocks back and set-up?

I dropped all four shocks off on Friday so hopefully I'll get them back this weekend.

MOB, I haven't weighed it yet but I did get the scale out. I'll weigh it before powdercoating it.
