BTW Dan, i listened to the modded muff @ Haydays in Ulmers' tent. I could NOT tell it was modded. With shield there is NO way to tell it's modded. Now how it sounds at speed is another story, but i've heard it's noticeable at best. Or barely noticeable at worst. Ben said it's more like a Porche sound.

I mean to get that HP out of a STOCK sounding & looking sled is INFREAKINSANE! No other sled, especially 2-smokers, have this option. Nobody will know & you can pretend you're a clutching genius. Or in my case, i tell everybody i have 2% body fat with 6-pack abs & they need to go on a diet...

Sorry i got off topic. I have the OSP adjuster (thanks Dan for your crazy brain). The adjuster does have to come off to change belt so the washer can be installed to not damage plastic piece. Not a huge hassle, just an extra step...

Apparently they did away with that metal washer altogether. Galled the threads.Sorry i got off topic. I have the OSP adjuster (thanks Dan for your crazy brain). And guys have smoothed off the tip of the bolt, so it does not cut into the black spacer when used for removing belt.

I was told to install washer. I'll look at it better, but not sure how that stops metal from digging into plasticApparently they did away with that metal washer altogether. Galled the threads.

Ahh ok, yeah that is one nice piece. I like that Mike designed that on the dyno and posted his dyno sheet with his muffler mod. Think he might be the only one who posted his.He said Sandale
He is also the highest price too...lol

When did you get it?I was told to install washer. I'll look at it better, but not sure how that stops metal from digging into plastic
There was a really big thread on the OSP adjuster, which is no longer here. I had read thru it and saw that over time as people were riding last season, the metal washer was galling up the threads on the body of alum. As you ride and your secondary opens there is now space between the locked dial adjust collar, and the helix....so that metal washer would fly around and work away at threads. This is why the plastic spacer there is better. So most of these items dont have anything there, but if they do its a plastic type washer, or thicker spacer in the OSP design.
I wish guys with the other brands(without any spacer or washer) could take a look at theirs and see if there was any major marring of the helix front edge, and also how the inside of the dial adjuster looks.
Cause it very well could be a non-issue, and just not need anything at all. Ofcourse the screw to open the clutch to change belt will still put a mark into the helix when using it, but that is not abig deal as I usually dont use that tool on a yammie, its not like the doo where its really hard to open them without tool.

The OSP adjuster came with the plastic bushing & the washer installed. The washer spun around messing up the threads. OSP re-imbursed me a whole new piece. I was told by OSP to remove metal washer & install it when removing belt. So now i remove collar, install washer, replace collar, remove belt, remove collar, remove washer then re-install collar. Then re-adjust belt which to me has to be up on stand & rotated a lot until it "finds" itself. One turn on adjuster made a difference if my cogs were above sheave or even...

Dan,i remember it just like it was yesterday brother, you worked very diligently on it,and did an excellent job,so much so,lol (now) it is a very popular devise, and so you should be prould of showcasing your idea, because I still have mine, and if it was a cat procross,it would still work good. There are a lot of very good guys and I am sure gals too,on this site, its not like hardcoresledder, where everyone wants to just rip on one another, most of the time on here,we all get along great. I am glad to see you and Mike back on yamahas, you two as well as a lot of others, have a lot of tuning exsperiance,at one time I to,did lots and lots of testing, but as you get tore up,and Old,it becomes harder and harder to keep my hands into it. But always nice to click on Toms site and see good people having good fun!!lol. CheersYeah I guess that large flat metal washer, would then end up galling up the threads on adjuster over time...so OSP got rid of it altogether and just left the thick black spacer.
They have gone thru an evolution for sure....from that first design where I simply was looking to float the Secondary on those cats for hopes of better belt life....(this is why OSP uses the word float i their description) and it then got added the dial adjust for quick deflection adjusting...and then it got the belt removal tool added.....so it went thru 3 different styles......and the price went up too! I noticed in my video I mentioned the pricing was 29 bucks then....wow cheap!...lol
My videos dont seem to play here on this page, but if you click YOUTUBE on bottom right corner, it will open a new browser window and show you the video directly on youtube.

Might get tougher with these new springs we got now, will find out soon enough.

Thanks Dan. I just ordered one also. Your costing me too much money Dan! I might not be able to retire now if I keep reading all the different ways to spend my money on here. Oh well that's why I worked so hard all those years, to spend my hard earned dollars on toys.Birdy told me the adjuster I wanted just went on sale....

I wonder if the washer could be glued some way to the plastic collar so it doesn't move around and ruin the threads. That would solve all the issues and make it very user friendly. Having to remove the adjuster and install the washer and then remove the washer when done isn't what I want to do. It would be easier to just push it open and change the belt. The OSP adjuster came with the plastic bushing & the washer installed. The washer spun around messing up the threads.
