Dont know anything about wear about track clips when using this graphite slides but I can tell you they dont last longer than the stock one.. Waste off money it you ask me.

One thing to keep in mind however is that these dimples or holes will also trap dirt & pebbles as well as snow. Therefore in certain conditions this may work to your disadvantage.

Im not going to dispell the argument that the holes COULD potentially be a disadvantage in certain conditions, I just personally have never found that to be a factor. I have probably around 15,000 combined miles on slides with holes drilled through them at the bends and have had only good luck with doing so. I always have good slide wear and always know exactly how much material I have left. Combined with oversize wheels, it is and has been working well for me.

All I ran on the RX-1 was the graphite and I had 4000 plus miles on that track and the clips were fine.

Maybe the guys that are having probs with ther clips are the ones that change slides to soon and to often?

I don't know if were talking about the same grahite slides here but the Yamaha OEM part numbers for my slides on my ATTAK are the ones in the accesories catolog. The wide ones with graphite.

I bought the SMA-8FU92-00-HP which are the recommended graphite slides for the Apex in the Yamaha catalog. They are about 1 3/8" wide (same as standard).
Some others have used the SMA-8CM92-70-HP graphite slides which are about 1 1/4" wide.
I haven't installed them yet and I can still return them if I want. Just looking for pro & con input.

For what it's worth, here's an article on sliders: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=58255

Yamaha will have new and better hyfax/slides for 2009. This info was relased on the dealer meeting/2009 models release - yamaha-scandinavia. I take this as a confirmation that they have been fully aware of the slide wear issue and I really hope the new slides/hyfax have better quality then the one they offer today. The polaris slides I knocked on my sled for some time ago are now showing signs of wear but no way near how they would have looked if they was bought from my yamaha dealer. The polaris slides are made of a much harder material and they last longer.

I have read it but I cant find any reason why the slides from polaris are lasting longer on my sled than the ones from yamaha due to the statment that all slides offered today are made of the same material... I have tested this thing and I know the polaris slides are harder/stronger and last much longer than the stock slides from yamaha.

Which brand Poo slides did you use? OEM Edge style?

I second that question.Which Polaris slides fit?

Does anyone know if the RX-1 had hyfax wear issues?

3200 miles on 2007 Attak with original slides and no extra wheels. They wear very quickly at first and then seem to go a long time with little wear.
What are the part numbers for the narrow and wide slides everyoe is talking about? Are the wide slides the stock ones? I read the narrow have less wear however I can't understand why...
