Want to order a set for my 2011 Apex XTX, have 114 Qty 1.375 studs down the center. Need input on which snowtracker is best for this application- the Agressive or Semi -Agressive design.
Input greatly appreciated from anyone running these on their sleds.
Thanks,

I have the semi's on my SE but not studded. I would recommend the aggressives but have heard on here they are scarey with the new ski design. If you get the aggressives, please keep us informed.

Semi Trackers

I have the semi's and do not suggest you go that route. In hardpack they are ok, but on soft or deep snow they push like crazy carpets!

In my opinion these runners are for less aggresive riders and for slower speeds.

Who did you hear this from?

PM from very informed source that may wish to remain nameless???

ok we have done the last bit of testing in pursuit of no pushing and no darting on our two 2011 apex se's

1) 2010 ski with extreme snowtrackers -- will not work with 2011 ski
2) 2011 or 2010 ski with semi snowtrackers
3) arrows with twin 8" 60 degree carbides on each ski

all of these are good choices on our 2011 apex se's set up with no shims, 0" to 1/4" toe out, transfer at +-1/2, 60 psi front, 165 psi rear, up 1 or 2 on the limiter strap; I could write a lot about what didn't work but this is the short list of what does work. Pass it on to anyone if it can help them with their 2011 apex. Thanks.

I think I will try the agressive ones next set, I do find they push in some conditions...

So you are saying use the old ski with the aggressive snowtrackers. I am okay with that I have an extra set of skis.

They should tell Royal Distributing they don't work. I asked and they told me yes it would.

Ask them why it wouldn't work? I know you would have to drill the holes different because they are a longer ski.

Not me saying they don't work, fellow TY'r pm'd me about the snowtracker's and he had done some intense testing with aggressive and semi aggressive snowtrackers, even with 2010 and 2011 skiis. He stated it was dangerous with the agressive snow trackers on the 2011 skiis due to the mounting point. my semi aggressive snowtrackers are great in certain conditions but do push some in loose snow on hardpack trails. Hope this helps.

I cant speak for the semi-aggressive ,but i just installed aggressive trackers on my 07 rtx with pilot skis. After trying many types of carbides i can say without a doubt these are the best remedy for elimimation of darting in almost any conditions.I found they do push in deep snow, but no worse than the other setups ive tried. There is some ski lift in corners but well worth the better turning abilities. I would recommend the aggressive, with the thought that if a little too much bite initially the more they wear the better the sled may handle. Their pricey,so if the semis are not enough bite for you you cant add more metal to them and could be a waist of money. They are built way more heavy duty than they look in their adds,as some people have commented on.Going down a chopped out trail straight as an arrow is the greatest feeling, and makes these sled feel even smoother and easy to ride. Good luck.

I had a hairy experience with the extreme snow trackers on 2011 Apex, powering out of a long sweeping corner, one ski dug in and I believe the other ski after it rocked back and forth once, either way it was scary and never experience any thing like this at 70+ mph. The extreme are okay, but you better be careful when powering out of a corner. I removed them and got back to the stud boy shaper carbides.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I will wait on this purchase until next year. In interim, I am going with 6' studBoy Deuce bars for the XTX and adjust suspension from there.
