Stoli's MCX Turbo OFT/Skinz Black Sled Build

skinz.jpg

Red line is the plastic, yellow the foot bracket. There is a gap between them in to the clutch from underneath . Just wondering if you have the same gap ?

Snow in to the clutch = :o|

Did you add strength to the rear bumper mod ? Between the bumper and the drop bracket ? Seems little week there ?
I`m in the prosess of doing the same bumper mod without the extension

Nice build by the way ;)!

While i am a person who enjoys a good looking "gap" .... ;)!
in this instance - yes i have the same gap there.... about an inch
If memory servs - i believe the OEM boards went back a bit further and there was a single rivet in the outer corner of the plastic into the board.
might be worth adding something in and riveting it in.

Nothing added between drop bracket and front tip of bumber.
Not to sure under "normal" conditions you would need anything.
Now tumble the sled or something else and all bets would be off anyway.

Yeah, i might try to add an extra plate on the inside, just to be sure.
Without the tunnel extension, the airframes support will hit the new bumper about half the way. Mabye it helps with the strength :dunno:

Thanks Stoli ;)!

I run 20/40 gearing and love it, works great and doesnt eat belts. Still very snappy out of the hole too. With 180hp these can turn that gearing no problem.

Made some progress over the weekend.

Was able to fire it up after getting the fluid added.
Here is a quick vid of the start. It took a couple of tries for it to keep running, hadn't been started in several months plus new spark plugs, removed gas tank and blah blah blah... so I edited those out.
Directors cuts at this point ;)!

Installed the new headlights.

Also inserted the new riv nuts in the sub frame to get the skid plate mounted and tied up a couple of other minor pieces.

No snow real snow around here yet. Got about 3" last weekend so the kids were able to rip the yard up on the 120.

As of right now... It's looking like we will have to chase the snow. Would really like a tune up ride before next month.

30" here last night ;)!

You're just outside of my range or I would tell you to clean off the coach .... 30 fresh inches of powder would be awesome.

Where did you get 30 " rlcofmn? I saw that Alyeska got a bunch. You talking Turnagain or did they get some north too.

I'm ready to ride on the 17th after I return from Hawaii.... excited about riding... not too excited to leave the surfin just yet though!

Thats the second hand report I got from someone who camped at turnagain last night. They are stuck there waiting for DOT to plow the lot so they can get out. But it is second hand so who knows. We got 8 or so in Anchorage so it's very possible. Still overcast but today would be rediculous tree riding in the deep heavy snow.

better progress last night. Was able to get the guage installed, skid plate and panels. Fit the Skinz hood as well. Waiting on a few items (doghouse and OFT block off are getting powder coated), and the Front bumper. Need to install the Skinz LED tail light and Mtn Addiction jug, also waiting on the AF guage from the pony express seems like.

Coming together nicely .... Much easier to see progress :-o

Hey Stoli, we have the same seat! I've haven't tried out my seat yeat very much, but just having a mile or so on it I really like it.

Btw, great job. This is the coolest build on TY IMHO. I love it.

Wow, sled looks great. And the seat.. I want that seat!

Does the seat come with all the needed mounting hardware, or did you have to fabric the rear support frame yourself?

What was the price for it?

It looks like i already am starting to put together a list for the 2012 summer projects...

And once again, Great job on the sled!

I have put over 3k miles on my Skinz seat, this is my 3rd year on it. they have made some upgrades since I bought my original one, all for the better. They are sweet seats thats for sure!
