What max stud length can I use on a 129 SE with the 1 1/4 inch track safely without risk of damage? Thanks in advance.

Some run longer without issue, but I went with 1.450 and like the length overall for trail riding and very good hookup. With big power, when you start getting too long you will be bending more easier. And you gotta be mindful of your base when hammering her.

My front cooler has been hit. The track ratchets on acceleration and even hard braking once when it got a bit loose. Yep, it hooks a bit too hard.
I run 192 1.45 sharpened Megabites. If I had to do it over again it would only be 144 studs of the same size and non sharpened. With that many studs the track balloons a bit too much at speed. I run it at 1.25" with 22 lbs of pull, any looser than that and it ratchets on the big tunes.

From what I am reading if you stud in middle just dont use middle protector and you will be fine? I never studded a sled before I want to try and save some money my dealer wants 1100.00 to do it. I was going to use the woodys gold diggers per their recommendations on there site with there 129 template staying away from the outside / quiet pads. I agree Mike. I run 192 1.575 megabites. I nicked my exchanger as well. I don't have a guage to measure it but I run it super tight. The tighter the faster!

I like the 2/4/2 pattern I did. But I would like it better without the damn quite pads. I just noticed one inner idler wheel has a fair amt of rubber where from stud heads. Id really like to get a normal track so studs all sit same into the rubber.

I really like my 2/4/2/4 pattern, I like the template I got thru stud boy, its not cardboard like some of the cheap woody's templates.Was thinking of going with this one staying out of outside

Thanks a ton. I cant wait for next season. I bought mine in november new 17 left over in a 129 SE. I ran it this winter unstudded and with stock skis . I just installed the pilots per your right up instructions 2 weeks ago. I have 2201 miles this year same belt. So sled seems fine as far as the belt blowing goes.

I even used some doubles on the outside band so I could get eight scratch lines on the outside bands and the fact that doubles hook sooo much better.
Was thinking I could remove ALL the outsides to get rid of some weight and get a little more track slippage. Hooks a bit too hard actually. Once a racer, always a racer I guess.
