Heres some pics of a new turbo kit on the market for the apex . it runs a gt 30 ball bearing turbo and a external mounted waist gate. This turbo kit is definatly different that all the other turbo kits on the market. if you guys need contact info let me know and ill hook you up.

Any numbers ?? The GT30 is pretty big but on a sled im betting it spools at like what 8,000 ???
Looks inovative, but why proto type it with a gt30, that turbo will do close to 500 hp and being a rear mount it will take time to spool.

looks like a clean set up, just not sure why they went with the gt30, especially on rear mount, will take longer to spool and I don,t see it having anymore usable hp. than the gt2871, but some people think the gt2871 is too much so each to his own, good to see more competition.

How much boost have they been able to make with the GT30? By GT30 I presume that is the GT3071 and not the GT3076. I've been looking at the 3076 lately and would like to talk to someone that has used one. I'll send you a PM SummitKing.

Actually the gt 30 they are using is a ball bearing turbo and with it and the combination of it and a external mounted waste gate it spools about the same as a mcx apex rear mount. The kit is goign to be a bit heavier then most kits but it is also making more power. We do not have any dyno numbers yeat but we will keep you posted should have them soon.

Do you know what the theory is, behind the quicker spooling with the external wastegate. I've never used an external before. Is it supposed to seal better?

External gate can use a tighter cartridge or turbine housing with a better flow characteristics. The external waste gate if he chooses to use an EBC (electronic boost controller) will allow him to run harder to full boost before blow off. You can actually hold the valve shut on the tial wastegate right until full boost is achieved instead of blowing off early. Or starting to leak close to full boost. External gates are also way better in terms of controlling boost creap etc.. not sure if thats a problem on a sled or not is sure is on cars.

Now, thats an intercooler ... Lots of short charge air passes!.
On the down side, the a/f sensor is too close to the exhaust outlet, will read
lean... And , i wouldn't test hp with a Dynomite at that level!.
