Guys from Ontario/Quebec looking for feedback on the SQ. Do the police hassle you with this exhaust?

Ben has done decibel testing on his mufflers, maybe he will post the results. I didn't think the SQ was that much louder than stock but I know others think it is.

This is a tough call.....What I can say for certain is, I believe the SQ is the quietest muffler out there(along with the sandale 2.5 which is darn near same body and the EVO magnum) that makes big HP. All the others are louder that I can think of and make even more HP.

I would wrap it in the stock heatshields and insulation for a stealth look.

But for me, I am really interested more in either Modded stock muffler which is quite abit quieter, still making good power as they mod the inlet and outlet larger, and where it bolts onto turbo is all larger with new connection. Or just stay 100% stock muffer and less HP, but with a CAI and tune could possibly still be very strong, yet stealth.

Its a tough call....but If you really want stock like quiet that is what you need to consider IMO.

Did you test the SQ? Thought I read that you had one...

Yep its on Toms sled now with powertrail flash....he just took it to cochrane for weekend. I will have it back next week to keep dialing it in, as long as Tom doesnt wrap it around a tree with the massive power increase..lol

Its really not bad at all, and most cops wont give it a second look....but Im partial to stock sound. Its a fine balance between every last bit of HP vs trail ride quality if you are riding miles and miles. Just depends what you want, and if you wear iPod then it wont bother you. I do wear tunes always have.

How does Tom like the set-up?

Loving the setup!!!! Dan's really got this thing running well everyday we are learning more about this Sidewinder ins and outs so far been a real pleasure Think Snow!!!
How were the trails in Cochrane? May head there tomorrow. No issues with the exhaust from the local police?

Tom loves the winder....the thing just does NOT stop pulling.

Have not come across the PoPo yet....It does worry me abit when opened up on the road she has serious growl. But it is the nature of the beast..if you want the power you need free flowing exhaust, anything less will just make less power.

It comes down to what you want/need....For myself I could see myself trying the stock modded if I end up on a SW next season, OR I am very interested in what a stock muffler tune of 13psi would feel like.

I feel like the SW crowd are many apex guys graduating up.....where as the cat guys all these yrs are hardcore turbo guys and sound is less an issue with the majority of those guys, and those guys are after every last bit of HP. I feel like the SW gang here while many are same wanting every last drop, there are more guys who want to just have a stealth trail rocket that wont get us a ticket or make our local neighbors upset and close trails.

That being said, I believe the ECU gurus out there will see there is an UNtapped category of turbo owners out there....EVO seems to see this and looks to have a 13psi stock muffler tune...I hope Ben comes out with his version and pushes the limits and advertises it as much as the big PSI tunes.....Maybe lose a few sled lengths, but be completely quiet/stealth doing it would be really cool IMO.

How bout a 13-14psi flash with CAI? Show some dyno work with that and I can guarantee there may even be MORE sales in stock muffler flashes then louder ones.....I bet guys wont even mind paying same as a higher HP flash, to have the quiet stock muffler remain.

Just depends how much HP can be made with stock sound.....may be not enough????

Very happy you like it...

Btw guys we do have a stock muffler tune, specifically tailored for it (Ecotrail 12.6 psi) just put in the comment section that you have a stock exhaust.

Interested in knowing also

how much HP gains with the flash and stock exhaust?
We don't have hp figures currently has the machine is off the Dyno. However it is a substantial gain and maintains the hp through very long pulls as tested.

We gained 450rpm in the clutches and 8mph top speed increase in back to back testing in deeper snow on the shady side of the lake.
