I got the Arctic cat/Yamaha tether for Christmas. My question is how in the crap do you get the little pin out of the factory harness? I tried pushing on it and nothing. The instructions are very vague on how to do it so I'm hoping one of you guys knows how. All I can think of is to cut the wire and do it without taking the pin out but I really don't want to cut my factory harness.

I agree with jpr-ltx-dx, use a needle or thin paper clip

Will any normally closed tether work the same way as the ' original' ?
Yes but it wont have the connector pins on it. I would go with OEM or get the Rollover valve which also uses a tether.
Does the tether only brake the cable from the kill switch when pulled out?
Yes

Any Yamaha dealer can get you the kit for Viper. Install is pretty easy as well once you get the hang of getting the wire out of the connector. Paper clip in the hole works good to release the wire after you pull of the locking tab with needle nose pliers.Where do you find the tether kit?

If you are going to the trouble to put in a tether why not get the Roll over valve as it has a reprime feature as well as an oil leak solution. More money but way more product.
X2 I wont own a 4st without it. I experienced the big oil puddle after a very light roll on right side before I got wise and got the valve. Dont even think about tipping it anymore. No more spilled oil. No more worries. If you are going to the trouble to put in a tether why not get the Roll over valve as it has a reprime feature as well as an oil leak solution.
