2000 mile back- pack trip ? What is that for you, like 3 Days! Just kidding... breakdowns suck.
Hope you two guys have all the gremlins behind you now, so that you can enjoy the rest of your trip.
Great silver linings so far huh? With the extra backup sleds for both of you, and how about that dealer getting both sleds repaired in short order.
So in short, I would say that “If it wasn’t for bad luck, you would have no luck at all”, but I can’t because of those Silver Linings or Good Luck.
Hey also good planning on your part, having backups Incase of breakdowns or otherwise. Been there, done that many times when up there for extended riding miles.
Keep it twiks the trees, and enjoy all of those beautiful trail systems.
Hope to hear a more positive end to your snowmobile journey novel.
Here’s wishing you better luck, if you want to call it that, and hope you are finding the perfect trails in (God’s Country).
That’s more Maine slang for (The County).

I'm now over 8000 miles on this machine.
The last 200 were painfully slow. I'm going to open 'er up tomorrow. 2 newbie's in the group need to learn who the Alpha is.
Plus, Art the BEERGOD & SteveO Clutchmaster called me a whiny wuss for worrying so i'm going to turn up the iPod volume to get my mind back into riding & stop worrying about my chain case. Although when Disturbed came on today, i thought my sled was making a grinding noise so maybe i'll keep the music to Beach Boys, Cheryl Crow & Snoop Dog.
Making the Libby's run tomorrow. 275 miles. Should be able to do it in under 12 Parseks.
Thanks for posting some pics Art. I'm running on Hotspot now so not easy to post.
WISH ME LUCK BOYS....

WELL, WELL, WELL
You boys thought this thread was going to fade away like Kaperdinks career BEFORE he decided to kneel before games.
But as the great poet Forrest Gump once said, CHIT HAPPENS!
My trails were groomed every night to perfection. Best i've ever seen for a whole week.
Now you know about my buds' speedo sensor, my coolant hose under tunnel giving way & my buds' chain case issues, but there is more in the OCD saga.
I told you to strap yourself in.
While our Winders were in the shop, we broke out the back ups. His 12 800 Etec & my old Apex i sold to my cousin.
We had a great day. It was like the 'Ole days where my Yammi kicked his Doo arse all over Maine. Until his Etec starting pulling codes & running like crap.
Luckily our Winders were fixed & new blood came to town.
Well the newbie with a 08 Powertek started backfiring & was out of commission.
That left 4 guys on 3 sleds. So they flipped a coin & the newbie Doo guy got to ride the Infamous MUFASSA. My old 07 GT Ape with 19,500 miles.
He loved it & is completely convinced on getting one.
UNTIL the driveshaft broke.
Towed it home & into the truck. Then the truck starter blew! Towed the truck, with sled in back, down the street to get it fixed.
To top this whole week off, the whole camp got sick.
My cousin was yakking so hard, i wouldn't be surprised if his SHOE flew out!
NOW, some of you may think this week was all bad or even a failure, but NO!
While riding, i was staring at the beautiful & majestic Mount Katahdin & realized how insignificant my paltry problems are.
I ended up with 1200 miles, spent time with friends, and didn't have ONE belt issue!
Plus i didn't puke.
So what's the moral of the story?
Have fun & ride!
And if you ever get to ride in the OCD world. BUCKLE UP! Cuz it's gonna be a ride.
P.S. Can anyone name the comedian that quoted that vomit shoe joke?

1st driveshaft on the Apex? Seems like 10k is when you have to start worrying. My Attak is at 11k. River Drivers is a reg stop for us now.

I replaced this driveshaft last year with a used one when i realized the bearing had spun on the original after 18,000 miles.
Thats the spirit! Always look for the positive. Its there somewhere.

Yeah, all the talk at the time scared me so I installed a beefier Micro Belmont when I changed track on the 08 LTX with about 15000kms. Put in Rip II and the new axle assembly and has been good. 32000kms on her now but gets little use as the SW is first out of the stable!
