The "LINK" Doesnt Fit 07 Standard

The billet link some got last year is the same link you have - what the few people that got it last year failed to mention was that in order to install it you do need the front arm and some other pieces to go along with it. They may not have know this as the dealer most likely did the install with help and instruction from Yamaha's technical dept. From my experience being at dealer tech updates and seeing how many failures we have had at the shop with that piece I don't think people need to worry about it as much as some are as the failure rate currently is very low. Yes a few have broke but it is not like we see alot of them - if you have a failure be sure to get it in to a dealer and between the dealer and technical assistance I am sure they will get it resolved.

Thank You!That clears that up.My dealer is going to try returning the link to Yamaha so I can get my $ back or some of it.I have extended warantee so if it breaks again it will get fixed at dealer with updated parts and while being fixed I will run the SRX.

these are some of the parts the differ off 08 phazer rtx vs 07 phazer fx regarding link

part number 24 on microfiche
8GT-47349-01-00 bracket, arm pivot

part number 26 on microfiche
8GN-47487-00-00 shaft 5

Part number 28 on microfiche
8GN-4741B-00-00 Bracket this is the billet block

part number 29 on microfiche
95812-10055-00 bolt, flange

part number 31 on microfiched
95812-12060-00 bolt, flange

i believe parts 29 and 31 won't actually be needed. but i could be wrong.

the front arm is a different part number as well as well as some other shafts...

a lot changed.

to hell with it. i'll add a bead of weld to my bracket.

Wow send that dealer a Christmas present this year for sure.Mine has been bugging Yamaha but cant get the suspension or any info about starting update. Not worrying about it much anymore though.Time to ride.

From what I could see, it looks like a similar arrangement to what happens when you want to upgrade a Vector pro-active rear skid to the tougher front arm off an '07 Apex Pro-Active. You needed the arm, link and odd and end bushings, etc.

It should be under warrantee but only if you break your current one.I stopped adding up parts cost at around $600.
