"The Pinks TV Show thread" TYers are Racing!

Hey sno-xr, thanks buddy, got the contribution.

14 days and counting, till I leave for Texas.

Extended outlook, looks like 85° and sunny.....

Terry, I am on my way. Currently stopped in Hot Springs for a few days. Will be in Texas next week.

Leaving tonight for the adventure!! Going to Connecticut, then back to Wisconsin, then back to Connecticut for Friday. After that I'm up to Tylers and will be taking off from there to head for Texas with the Vmax-4 and equipment.

Thanks Charlie (sasquatch), and thanks Bob (BTeliminatorII)

This really helps, and I promise to make it up to you when I meet up with you guys!

Thanks Ulmer Racing

Thanks Todd (Hook-n-Book) and Chris

Little update, and to ask who might be showing up, as I can give 10 people a free pass into the "PINKS" race on Saturday only. I have Tony and Jim (pimped & big-d), Tom (DaJudge) and Sue Vehe there to help me, so that leaves a couple spots open, (if they include me part of the ten), to come in race day for free.

I really have to thank you all for helping me out to get this accomplished, and I am looking at ways to give you something back in return. Working on a huge board that will include all of the names and people that helped, because I don't think they are going to let me say all of the names. I am going to ask Rich if it is alright if they take a camera shot of the board. What wouldf show up better, white on black, black on white???? Let me know what you think.

The board is a great jesture of gratitude, but I am not sure if they would allow that or how well it would work. The show has split second edits, even faster than a MTV video, about 1/3 of a second might be all you would get and the boad is a lot of work and one more thing to take with you and keep moving around.

You know what I was thinking?

They let you introduce yourself, and since it is a sled first for Pinks, they may let you introduce snowmobiles as well.

Like a 15 or 20 second well scripted voice over to some high res pictures and video clips.

For example
I'm Terry Burmeister from Wisconsin. I have been sledding for X years and I am here today because many people do not realize how awesome snowmobiles are.
What has added greatly to my enjoyment of the sport is my online forum community Totallyamaha.com. On Totallyamaha we have many forum sections like mountain riding (cut to a short video clip of mountain riding) performance upgrades like turbo or supercharging (cut to a pic of a supercharger kit) Grass, lake and asphalt racing like you will see today.
Many people customize their sleds similar to car and motorcycle guys (cut to a pic of Cubby's sled) "it is quite a thrill to be shooting across a frozen lake at 130 MPH (video clip of that)

I do think they could use something like the above with the right scripting and video clips and pics that they could put together as a short but glitzy attention getting presentation.
That could even be presented after the fact to the producer Steve Pullin to be spliced into the show. They hack up hours of shooting to get it down to 22 minutes (or whatever) the most attention grabbing bits make the edits and get aired.

Great post Mike, and yes, that is what I would like to see and hear also. I will call Rich and ask him what I have to play with as far as time, as I will be having the sled pulled back by a smaller 4 wheeler that only does 15mph, so they will have a little downtime.

These guys have helped me out, and I am going to do my damndest to get everything mentioned somehow.

Can a person get overdosed on adrenaline? Cause I might run out before the race! 1 week before we leave, and Rich said hotels are booked! He said to not worry, it will only be millions of people watching......

Paul Baker, Thanks for the contribution!

Your welcome Terry. You guys have fun, and show the world that friends can have fun racing. Maxdlx

O.K. guys, talked to Rich on the phone last night, and he said he is getting over the bruises and rash from the spill on the bike. He is waiting for another incident, so people will stray away from this one.

Rich said anyone can have camcorders, but they can't be up on the line where the people are, they have to be in the stands. I told Rich about a billboard, and he thought that was a great idea, as he said naming everyone by mouth would take too much time. I mentioned the video highlights, and he said he will do what he can, as he only does the show, not segmenting. The cool downs will need to be attached to the sleds at the finish line, to make sure they are cool enough after negotiating. Rich said hotels and the track are expecting 8-10 thousand people to come out to watch. I will be bringing a section of chain to keep some of the people away from the trailer. Track will be more than tacky, and will spray extra to get the turbo sled into the mid 7's if needed. Can't belive it is already time to leave this week!

Thanks to Dave Brown from Florida for contributing. Dave Brown is an asphalt sled racer in Florida, and is hoping this really catches on in other states.
