Started up my sled today. Noticed crap flying around. Assumed a critter nest. Found what's left of an 8DN belt with the top layer threaded.
Was a new belt when I put it on but purchased back in 09. ( My spare for my nytro.) This belt has maybe 10 miles on it.
Thinking just an old belt that was age fatigued. Hope so.

No belt is 100%. Even the 8DN. Have blown a couple of them myself on Viper and many on SRX. All it takes is leaving parking brake on even for a instant,Deep stuck or just sometimes they go. Yours I would blame on just age! Dont forget there is a 00 and a 01 8DN also.

that is how i usually blow one on my apex or on the rx. if it never got hot, most likely age got it.

I assume the 01 is the later version?
Yes. They are slightly different size. Maybe different compound but not sure of that.

Found the posting about it. I just bought an 8DN-17641-01-00. Looks like I might be shimming my secondary again.
