ZX2 here. Love the skid. Also put some GYTR nytro shocks up front. Helped alot also. Sound like theres lots of good options out there. If the sled is in good shape and the engine is good, I personaly think it's worth it. Im still driving the crap outa my 03 and will be for a few more years. Good luck with whicch ever way you go.

M20 airwave for me, love it. Easy to adjust, very low maintenence, rides so smooth. If someone offered to swap any new suspension of my choice today, i would say thanks, have a nice day. Its that good.

Why aren't you guys just re-valving or re-springing the stock shocks? I would think that my dirt bike shock tech could make them much better....I need to ask him. BTW....I know very little about sleds![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Well, that helps, but you'll still have to deal with busted w-arms and a general lack of easy adjustments. It is also a bit of a pain to install the skid.

Good info guys, I am done with the pro-action. Bad ride and everytime I turn around I am putting parts in it. How many hours would you say it takes to throw a mono shock skid in? I am going to be looking for one. Thanks

So just a follow up after one season on my SC-4. Just under 1000 miles this year. El Nino. The skid is a huge improvement over the pro action, that's for sure. I can actually fly over some stutter bumps without veering off the trail. I didn't get to dial it in very much, so I had it set a little "hard." I also have a lower grade center shock which I will be changing for next year. I did not break any parts.
I put pilot 5.7's on also, and that cured all darting problems. I'm really close to having the sled just where I want it.

Mono is a pretty easy install because the mounting plates line up with some of the existing rivet holes so there is not much measuring required. The swap could be done in a day but there's going to be more work involved rebuilding the mono with new bushings, shock revalve, etc before you put it in. If you PM me with an e-mail address I can send you some photos.Good info guys, I am done with the pro-action. Bad ride and everytime I turn around I am putting parts in it. Do you happen to have the mounting locations/measurements for putting the T660 skid in the RX1? I have a 136” Panther 660 skid I want to mount into my 2003 RX1 this springI purchased a 03 RX1 last year with just 7000Kms to replace a 2nd sled. After exhaustive research I swapped in a Cat T660 skid(almost new) that came with the Rebuild-able Fox shocks! Never rode the no-action skid, but sold it for more than the Cat skid! Very happy with the way things turned out. This was a one owner sled and the person had taken great care in it. It took some research to get the measurements right, but was worth it. Measure 3x, drill once! Even used the Cat backing plates as they are very strong, powder coated. Relatively little fabrication and some minor handling adjustments. The RX1 has been a great addition to our stable. Son loves it....!

how i did a skid swap was i used the drive axle as the basis of my starting point. measure from the top of tunnel down to make sure of tunnel heights. then i measured from the axle to the 1st mount point and from top of tunnel down for the donor skid. i then do the same for each mounting point for the suspension. i took my measurements from the donor sled tunnel and translated them to the sled i was installing them into.

Unfortunately I do not have access to the donor sled tunnel. I’ve asked around for measurements on some of the Cat forums and I’ve receive conflicting info.as this is an older thread, some of the members are not here as often.

I’m considering setting both skids side by side with the front of the rails even with each other and figuring out the differences in mounting points. Then transfer that info to the tunnel of the RX1
