Been working with Lonn from Thunder Products and really love this 911 cover that he sells. The cover replaces your existing cover on the stock Yamaha primary. Both Shagman and myself have run this cover for awhile now and will never go back to a stock cover. Cannondale, SR Viper and a few others have already received their 911 to run on their clutches. Takes a couple minutes to install and you don't have to pull the clutch. Don't have to change your weights, springs or rollers.....
Not only does it straighten the towers, makes the clutch move more freely.... it keeps the clutch from flexing and binding plus has been tested to 12,000 rpms. The stock primary cover allows the towers to bend/twist causing bind which doesn't let the clutch shift out like it should. The 911 cover with the large bushing and sleeve, along with the billet aluminum cover not only looks awesome, it makes the clutch safe. (ever see a clutch explode? Not pretty)
1 more thing to add to this awesome 911 cover is the ability to dial-in the sheaves closer to one another. This allows the belt to last longer and smoother engagement because there is so much distance between the sheaves and belt (stock) that when the 911 cover is dialed in to .020" between your belt and sheaves..... your not slamming the belt.
Safe to 12,000 rpms
Makes clutch move free
Large bushing that will last thousands of miles
The ability to "dial-in" belt clearance.
Cheap insurance for just over $200

You will really like this cover..... the dial-in so your belt doesn't get slammed all the time is so worth it.

Ken......
Been testing with the Gates belt Lonn had me try and it's the same belt I used on the trail last year for testing, used all season on the asphalt racing and will be using this winter season. From my figures and notes, I used the belt in 2014 for a few asphalt runs, tested clutching with different belts, but kept going back to the Gates Carbon Fiber belt. I would say 800 on trail and off trail miles, 300 1/4 mile runs on asphalt and the belt looks and measures like new. This race season was awesome and with the 32 races (6 runs down the track average) and all the test and tune days, this belt just simply amazes me. When you can have spot on clutching, low belt wear and cool clutching temperatures.....you have a winning combination!
