Well I figure I have pushed my sled as far as it can go with the stock ignition and injectors and the 19t mitsubishi turbo so it came down to a full race stand alone or the motec ignition system and because I still want to trail ride this sled I went with the motec. Then it was turbo time and what should I use, well after deciding to not have to upgrade again and talking to Martin at precision I decided to go with the garret gtx 3071 this should be a potent combination along with my hurricane ported head should be a lot of fun. I also have to thank Robbie for his hard work and dedication to this project as he is the guy turning all the wrenches including building my motor and not to mention my best friend. There is is still a lot of fabrication to get the turbo in yet but the motec is up and running and once it is in and if the weather holds out we will get out to the track before the snow falls. Here's a few pics. More to come.

With Martin and Motec you will not be disappointed. With a flip of a switch you can go mild to wild. Or get the 9 position switch and you'll have 9 choices of levels to choose from. I'll be running the Motec on the trail this year. I could go on and on what this thing can do. There's a few of us on here with them now. Any questions. Shoot away but Martin is awesome getting back to you.

Just got few pieces back from Fireball coatings with his XMC coatings looks great , hopefully start reassembly tomorrow still some fabricating to do. If all goes well and the weather holds out we will try and get out this weekend to try but the weather is fading fast.

Straight pipe or is there some sort of silencer?

Just got packed and and we are on our way home from round two on Hurricane Dave's Dyno. Many thanks to Dave and Elaine again for putting up with us, and hopefully Dave will be able to sleep tonight after pushing this motor past his comfort zone, making more power then any stock block on his dyno before. We have to thank Martin from Precision Sports for his excellent tuning skills getting us great pump gas tunes and race gas tunes - beating our expectations in power levels, and being available all day - the support is unbelievable! I was able to send him logs and he sent back modified tunes quickly to keep us going. The motec is an amazing piece of equipment, and has many more features we still have to explore, and the over boost protections, and knock sensor really work and can protect the motor. We will post more later when we have time

Well it was a long day but it was worth it I left the dyno a happy guy. We started out with 91 pump gas and after a few test runs to check boost levels we ended up with 350 hp on pump gas and at only 15 # of boost, Martin was pretty confident that there's another 25 left but I decided to leave well enough alone as we had Dave sweating bullets as it was LOL We then put in the C-16 tune and ended up with 465 hp at 26# of boost and then put in the Q-16 tune and got 478 at the same boost level.
I want to thank Rob for all his hard work in fabricating this combination and everything fits like a glove the way it did before,Thank you and you will be the first to test this combo I hope before the winter hits and Martin for his tech help and tunes on the Motec system as he stuck with us for the day and last but not least Dave for his Hurricane ported head that flows beautifully with this turbo and ignition system. Next move will be the new carrillo pistons Dave is making and a set of valve springs and long head studs then I can go to the next level as this turbo is rated for up to 560 hp whether or not it can reach this level remains to be seen but I'm sure 500 is very doable, all in all a very stout stock block, stock piston combination. :Rockin:

Awesome, are you going 36 any time soon?
If you do, let us know what the dyno says at 36.
