Co-Pilot is down with a bad cold so I had to go solo Thursday night. Headed out to Sedons Corner to rip up the Eastmans trail, passed the Halfway hut up to Seven Sisters and over to the Elfs Hut. On the way home I stopped in at Seven Sisters for some Lemon Pie,Yummmmmmmy Anybody remember that pie, I had a hugh piece by the way
On the way back just before the Half Way Hut Two deer were on the trail so I slowed up till they could make up their minds where they were going to go. I stopped and took off my helmet & just sat there enjoying the evening, it was so quiet & peaceful. Got me thinking how much fun we had last week on our TY Ride, It's going to be a long summer I'm afraid. Can't wait till you guys & gals come back next year for more of the same.
Riding with you bunch was just way too much fun & it's not the same anymore without you guys around.

That sounds awesome. I would have liked to stop one night under those evergreens that were like an archway over the trail and done the same thing.
I thought this ride was very well organized and my helmet goes off to all those invloved, especially the SRX twin and Snoduster. I know that after every event a person goes over what went well and what they would do differently, based on feedback from participants. So for what it's worth here's my two cents worth. I really enjoyed the Kubi lunch and pot luck supper, those were very fun. The bar for supper on the first night was very cozy and hard to leave. The trails were all incredible. A lot of us have never been to this part of the country and would have liked to have had a "scenery" part of the day. I was quite happy to giv'er in the ditches and along the power lines though. It would be fun if there was a "safe" field for some people to have a "powder hour" too.
A hotel with a bar and restaurant was mentioned but I'm not sure I'd pass up on the hot tub or the hospitality of the Super 8. Lots of Winnipeg people said it was the best start point for them too. I had a terrific time meeting everyone and getting to know my sled. I hope those that organized this event will take it on again next year and if there's anything anyone can do to help from a distance let us know.

Yep, I was laying in bed last night thinking "one week ago I was riding with 25 fellow sled nuts, eating deer sausage in the wilderness, and thinking things were pretty grand". I too miss having everyone around. Riding with that people was pretty damn special, and the quality of people in our group was outstanding. It is going to be a long long summer.

Yup, there isn't anything like stopping in the middle of nowhere and shutting off the engine and sitting in the dark in total silence for a while and looking at the stars. Pretty neat.

Just got back a while ago from a little blast across the lake and down a few trails. Wasn't the same but it'll have to do till next year I guess.
They are predicting March will go out like a lion. Lots of snow and cold. God I hope they are right.
Out riding tonight and the snow is still melting kinda gives me this sinking feeling. Like it will all be over soon.
I got a weeks holidays march break maybe I'll have to drive out to Manitoba for one last ride if all the snow doesn't melt. Stop at Seven Sisters for a burger and some pie. Yum yum.

Yes, after the TY rides, I always get a lump in my throat, a tear in my eye, and think........Geeez, it's over already!
See everybody next year, and will be doing the asphalt again this year, so check up occasionaly, and see how I am doing.
