Turbo Fuel Mileage

Hey guys what do you think this thing will be capable of for fuel mileage? I guess it has the same 37L tank as the viper. I was just curious how many km/miles the guys with turbos were getting out of a tank. I was talking with a guy at one of the shows and he said this sled will be way worse on fuel then my viper. It has me a little concerned since some of my riding is on some fast groomed trails where there it's like a 180km ride to the next gas station.

I am worried about this as well and have considered adding a jerry can to the back. But if it is on par with the old 1100 zuki I really don't see any issues. In reality though if you are running 180km (111 mi) without the chance of seeing gas I would add a can on the back. Example: You happen to take a wrong turn and your 180 km turns into 200+ .

On that note.. Anyone know if the doo linq fuel can will fit on the SideWinder?

My Turbo Viper consistently gets better gas mileage than my buddies stock 2015 Apex. I wouldn't worry.

Up north has a universal Linq attachment that I am planning to use on my Apex XTX , that will work, or you can add their rack , depending on which track/tunnel length you get .

Rep at the preview show said 16 miles to the gallon - not sure I believe that, but it would phenomenal if it did get that good of mileage.

You can mount the Ski-Doo Linq system & use their Linq stuff that's nice. Also ROTOPAX & KOLPIN make nice fuel caddies that attach very solidly.

I honestly believe if you ride moderately you will get equal mpg as anyone you ride with. Obviously when thumb & sphincter are competing to who can clench longer, mpg is gonna be pretty bad. DON'T forget the boost is insignificant below a certain rpm's so it's just injectors just like Viper. AGAIN, it's gonna be very difficult on 10 MISSISSIPPI straightaways not to pin it. These are the problems that are GOOD to have. On big runs, i'm installing a rotopax system...

BTW: 10 mississippi straightaways are when you keep the throttle pinned for 10 seconds or more...

Hoping for good mileage from the Sidewinder. I have Hurricane 190 kit on my viper with Power Commander V fuel map. It does consistently better than my Dad's NA Viper. I am usually leading and love to hold it on open stretches. Think it gains some at mid range and has less back pressure on exhaust? Had one tank run 135 miles on Michigan wide open trails. Was on fumes though. NA viper ran out. Be cautious buying linq system as the viper tunnel can be drilled anywhere but will not be case on Sidewinder with cooling in tunnel. WATCH WHERE YOU DRILL. Not fun watching water spill out!

running my procross at 250+ on the trail I got equal mileage to an 800 etec..this is putting my thumb into it often on the straights....ridden hard but with decent flipper modulation and not often thumb to the bar, I expect 15 easily....and yes...whiteout makes the linq mounts work: here's mine

On all averages the Sidewinder should get better MPG than a stock Viper. Generally better efficiency with the Turbo and you are carying more weight in the primary = lower average rpm? If I stay out of boost and just ride my apex I have seen 17 on a couple occasions. Stock 14 was about as good as it would get.

My Nytro and a couple buddies with turbo vipers all get 15-16 mpg consistently. We ride hard and fast too. With that much power you can cruise at 80-90 mph while barely touching the throttle. A stock one youre at the bar to cruise at those speeds.

I know that my 2013 cat turbo LXR 129 track with TD stage 4 tune and muffler would get 14-17 mpg regualy,and only sled that would beat it on every fill up,was a nitro 144 xtx and my boys 121 apes all took more fuel,not by a lot by there was a difference,i don't think this new sidewinder will be to bad at all,maybe closer to that zuk motor I had,don't worrie until you get it broke in,if by than you feel it has crappy milage,get a set of jugs for the sides or back.
