NOS. Thanks! I'll fix that in the post.Beerman, the test is at a certain rpm, not clutch engagement. And it was 13.1 ft. from center of sled, 48 inches from the ground and at 2,500 rpm. Just an FYI bud

Last I heard Ontario, guy got a $260ca fine.....and then court, and you must change it out.
Not sure why anyone would go loud when we have options now that make great power.

Hey Beerman, thanks a lot for testing all these mufflers. I'm very happy the TD mufflers scored well on your test.
Overall I believe everything was done correctly. However I believe two mufflers were tested for a longer WOT period that made them score higher in DB than they should have (WOT test)
One is the TD super quiet in the WOT test, the other is my competitor Sandale 3"also in the WOT test. In my opinion the Super Quiet will score much lower and the Sandale will also score lower in DB.
The Turboforce should be the louder muffler in that group but not by much.
If ever you have any time to test this it would be very cool and make your test absolutely perfect.
Thanks beerman
Ben

Ben, thanks. It means a lot coming from you. It was a a lot of work - running back and forth between the sled and the meter. I agree it could have been better. I would have liked to take 3 readings at 2500, 5000 and WOT and then average them. But I would have needed someone working the meter and taking the notes for that not to take a full day and have the sled overheating. All in all I'm satisfied that this is representative enough for the guys worried about noise to make an informed decision. On top of that the TD Super Quiet had 1300 miles on it, so like you pointed out earlier, it could have been a couple dB less just with a new one.Hey Beerman, thanks a lot for testing all these mufflers. I guess I wouldn't have thought that the time spent at a certain speed would affect the Max reading. I had the meter set to hold the Max value in all tests (especially since I had to run back and check it). The 2500 rpm test definitely had some variability as it's difficult to get it to 2500 rpm and ONLY 2500. Several of the tests I hit 2700 and even 2800 one time that I remember.
I think the Super Quiet is the ideal muffler for most guys and I loved it on my sled last year, but I'll be running a TD Stock Mod this year

TD stock mod is the way to go for power and close to stock noise levels.

And LOOKS! Just not looking stock might be a factor in Maine this year.
Can we assume that all the Stock Mod mufflers sound the same or close to it?

No all depends on what is done internally.

I believe they are all quite similar in their mods inside, I realize there are subtle differences, but from all the reviews I read, they all say how quiet they are, and clips Ive heard. So IMO any of the stock mods will sound near exactly the same, and would be hard to distinguish them apart just by a drive by.
I liked Ben's design right from the get go when seeing early pics back last season.

Ben, the 3 im speaking of, all have 2.5" top to bottom.
Maybe there are others you are talking about?
These 3 all sound so similar it would be impossible to distinguish apart IMO.
