viper diet....

Man that hurts just reading about it. Hope you heal quickly. Was the sled hurt? Just had to ask.

No the sled looked good. I will have the guys take a look at it here this week but I rode the rest of the day and didn't notice anything. I will get you some Picts of my calf as soon as I get back to work to upload them. Black black and red right now I can't even have a shower the water feels like pin needles every were it touchs

That sucks, heal up brother.

Sorry to hear you got hurt. At least you were enjoying your awesome build! I had a similar injury. Takes a long time to go away. Eventually it will even make your foot black and blue.

First half day back at work, could not sit at home any more it was driving me nuts!! had my crash on Sunday evening and here is the progression on the "Viper Bite"
emergency room they had to lance and drain the swelling out before my skin ripped. a needle the size of a pen went in and seven viles of blood came out then it just bled for 10-15 min not a lot of fun and a huge hole left over

day 2 could not wash the blood off yet still too tender to touch and worried about infection or a blood clot

day 3 looked really good a lot of the swelling has gone down but the impact site is crazy black, now you can see the size of the needle hole

day 4 the bruising started to move and heal

day 5
things are starting to get colorfull!

this morning!!!! swelling is way down the hole is still not covered in, the bruising is starting to hurt on my leg and my ankle turned black last night. however I can walk today and I plan to do lots of it to help get blood moving and try to stretch everything out without pushing things too far. So far I have got Tylenol and advil muscle and joint for pain and to ease the calf. light anti biotics just in case.

On another plus side my intake kit came in on Tuesday woot woot  if you cant ride might as well wrench.

Your optimistic on your recovery time. 20 yrs ago, wow I just said that didn't I. I had one in my thigh the size of a basketball. I wore a dress for over a week before I could put on any type of jogging pants. I needed months of physio with machines attached to me to stimulate muscle movement. All the while watching for clot movement. I'm not your doctor, but don't take this too lightly. It's good to see your progress this far and don't push it. old injuries can really haunt you later in life. Great job on the builds, I've stayed tuned in the background.

Yuk,

As the blood from the hematoma breaks up it goes down hill and that is why your ankle is turning black. I've got some experience with these things.
2010 lower left back/side. Never guess what turned black from this one...
1985 left thigh,
misc smaller ones.

Dirt bikes, I fricken love them!!!

Got into the physio early today about three weeks early. And they figure if things keep going well I could be biking and swimming in two months. Running in three and full recovery in 4-5. This recovery will be done by the book ! 28 years old and ready to heal , got a good group with me . Inlive with a masuase my gf is an occupational therapist, physio is a fellow runner and was lined up with some one to do acupuncture.

Can't walk today have to have crutches and the bruising is even worse. It has now run almost to my azz and my foot has now turned black and swollen. Good news
Intake it is one that's ULMER this new kit is amazing. The new aluminium parts and rad mount at sweet, easy install great instructions. Tether cord install kinda pain but installed and this weekend the boys will be taking it out drag racing! Will post results Monday or Tuesday.

Yukon:

I used to work in the physical therapy profession in another life. I understand your desire to get moving as quickly as you can, and certainly movement will be good for you ... But being back on your feet for hours on end is only going to exacerbate your swelling. You should be spending some of your day with your leg elevated, ideally lying on your back with your leg propped up so that most of your leg is higher than your heart. light movement while elevated (such as ankle pumps - i.e., plantar/dorsi flexion) is okay as long as you can minimize the discomfort. Ice or cold is your friend - use it. When you do need to be up on your feet, light compression wrapping around you leg will help reduce swelling. Compression stockings are probably going to be too uncomfortable at this stage, so maybe an ace bandage. You said you have friends in the PT/OT fields - have them show you the proper way to wrap an ace bandage - its important. Great job on the build and good luck with your recovery - I am watching the progress intently.

Thank you for the advice, I have takin all weight off my leg since my last post and spend the better part of the day with me leg in the air. I have been using cold packs all day every day, two tenser bandages 24/7
elevated foot at work and a sweet little cart to get me around at work lol..... the pict of the leg is three days old sorry I will get more this week.

Ha ha, Nice bell and Yamaha sticker on the scooter! ;)!

You're on the right track. Keep doing what you're doing.

Crap that Viper did bite ya!!!

Hang in there it only gets better from there. I crashed an Apex at over 105 a couple of yrs ago on Dec 15th And my 1st ride after that was March 13th. My sternum hit the column and whole chest looked like that and right shin hit the reverse lever and balloned to 4 times its normal size :o|

1st ride out after hit a pressure ridge and launched 10' in the air - that got the adrenaline going.
