viper diet....

Now all I need is the Ulmer intake kit to arrive and the PCV.
Right after those two things are installed I will weigh the machine again with all fluids ( only the PDI amount of fuel) and see how we are doing.
This weigh in will determine what direction I go with adding power or maybe try to find some more weight to drop. (porting track, carbon tunnel ect)

Got some replacement parts in today! cant stop the leak from my thermostat housing!
here is why! casting marks that have not been cleaned up on both ends of the housing

Have you considered a Anti Gravity battery? Drops 9 lbs in 5 minutes. I run one on the wife's Phazer, unreal cranking power and it weighs 2.2 lbs or 1 Kilo. Next one is going in my Nytro.

I all ready run a li on battery from ballistic. I did however weigh the machine today after most of the mods have been done! Still waiting on a wrp light weight seat and the ulmer intake kit but with 10L of fuel and all other liquids full the machine weight is 532. Much better than I had hoped. I added weight with the 2.5" track and avid drivers but very little compared to what I have dropped. The seat should drop I hope 2-4 lbs and the intake might be around 1-2 With these numbers I think porting the track will be an easy few lbs and then, money permitting carbon tunnel from TJ Patrick to match the hood

All right after a lot of second guessing myself... should I install a stroker kit or not too? INSTALL it was the conclusion, with the help of Yukon Yamaha we have begun the tare down and build up.
Engine has come out and the head is off. Pictures below show were I am at with porting the head.
start of exhaust side

intake

valve openings

bolted the hindle exhaust header on to see how close I came with a rough grind.

not too bad for a rough cut and clean, now time to get everything matched up and finished for Wednesday.
More picts to come

with the engine apart it is time to bolt the rods in and see where the rod bolts/nuts hit the lower case. 6 mm stroke means 3mm top and bottom split. I was expecting the bolts, nuts to hit a bit but not this much.
note: the middle cyl has the oil passage from the filter into the engine and it is getting shaved little by little by hand no die grinder for this spot.. I also have to keep in mind that 40 psi go through that passage

To keep from stressing too much, it seemed like a good time to finish up some hose wrapping

also a quick pict of the BDX rotor, I cant remember if I showed it (sorry)

and parts bench!

just finished plasti- gauging all the bearings and they all are within Yamaha spec!!!! time to re-build the engine

engine is coming together!
all take of parts from this engine are in the classified section (rings, pistons, crank, complete head!)

sorry it has been a few days since I have had a chance to post anything....
The last parts for the engine are in and starting to come together
First drag races of the year are in two weeks and I have not prepped my nytro yet. Have to charge the battery change fuel adjust clutching from last year and a few small things with the PCV.
The viper head is all together and the engine should be back in I hope by the end of the day.
