viper diet....

Could you please post some detailed pictures of the brake disc, drive shaft, and caliper? If it's not too much hassle, could you weigh the driveshaft? Thinking of using some of these parts in a future build.

Thanks.

Okay but just so you realize the pic of the hose shown with Needlenose pliers is a vent line. Maybe condensation makes the ice?

It was he bottom line I believe that is the return line from the bottle above the chain case . I am going with condensation for sure!!! It is also the lowest point in the return system. I will get some weights and more pictures today for you guys as soon as I get back to the shop

Yes, that is correct it is the drain tube for the air/oil seperator tank. This would be separate from the oil pump supply/return lines.

This first pict shows the drive shaft and brake disk put on as far as I can push it with my own strength

top view

gearing going back into the sled without reverse

this is how we had to get the brake system off the drive shaft, we used a bearing press tool the sat inside the splines and started to tighten it up and tapped the tool every turn

new drivers ready

old track new track!!!

splines on the drive shaft look good! same with the brake ones

weight of the drive shaft with stock drivers still on and the bearing plate

An OFT three wheel kit should be here today and my Racewerx bumper has arrived in town!!!!!
more pictures to come

I made a mention to the Yamaha rep about how bad the brake came off the shaft and the measures we had to go through to get it off.... The drive shaft and brake has been sent back to Yamaha and a replacement set has been shipped.  One epic point for Yamaha!
So in the mean time I loosely fitted my racewerx bumper together. The bumper is the wrong color :o| I ordered a black bumper with a red screen, as you can see I got a red bumper and red screen. But with my red grill and panels I think it might look good so................ on it goes.

Yes the bumper is the wrong color and I could paint it. But I wanna see what it looks like on the machine.
NOW let me be clear! This bumper is skookum, it will take a beating, no lightweight nothing, big bolts big plates and man it fits together just perfect. I have seen three bumpers so far Yamaha, no name and no name, and this one here is the best by far! It even comes with the front skid plate! I do not for a second regret waiting for this bumper or paying the price tag :bling The install pictures on their website are great. but once you have it half built there are no questions as to what needs to be done to get it on.

I will post more pictures tomorrow once it is on and all done.
Have a great weekend all! Happy trails in 2014

Bumper is on and looking good, it sits a little lower down on the machine than what I expected but over all very happy with it.....Got to the shop this morning checked my email and Racewerx had all ready wrote back with a bunch of options for getting the bumper exchanged or refunded ect... Just looks like one more reason to deal with Racewerx awesome customer service! I will be buying more parts from them in the future  Thanks again Racewerx.
Painted the three racewerx decals and screen kit black

Got the bumper all put on and set just the way I wanted and noticed coolant dripping from the tie rod boots :o|
Took the bumper off, hood ect, pressure tested the system and LEAKS :o| not one leak three leaks. This will be the fourth coolant leak so far on this machine.
Thermo hose clamp 5 turns (old leaking point)

two full turns

top of rad 3 turns and first small leak point

bottom rad hose and second clamp down 3 turns each (second and third leak)

From here I went back down the line and tightened the hose clamps to the heat exchanged half a turn each.
Pressure tested the system again and no leaks! :drink:

removed tail light to see how it looks, I tend to like the less is more approach ..... what do you guys think? Filled in all the holes I could with Yamaha black rivets

Wow that is a awesome bumper! I cant believe the leaks you have. Wonder why they didnt tighten them?

This is the first chance I have had to pressure up the system and have a day to really get into the machine. With it gutted waiting for the drivers ect it just seemed like the perfect time to try to find the leaks and anything that needs a little love. The oil lines below the tank got treated to rescue tape on all the aluminium hoses. I think I am going to look into large SS BRAIDED line to replace the aluminum hard line. If there is such a thing, I just don't trust them. It only takes one place to rub and boom you could loose your engine.
